The lines of the bike are enhanced by the stock panels when coupled with the look of the Super Steel Grey paint.
It is not surprising to me that that there are so many riders of the Black or Cherry Visions that choose to "black out" their bikes or pay extra for the chrome panels.
I see our 1st year Visions being collectors icons years from now and Super Steel Grey units will be the color of choice. I'm keeping mine BOX STOCK.
Think BMW R69s in Dover White, think Gold Top Les Paul. Anticipate Victory 20th Anniversary LE Vision in Super Steel Grey!

all my aluminum is blacked out and at some point anything not super steel grey or chrome will be black!! Blue is my favorite color but not the new blue vision.
I LOVE the Hammer 09 blue and my real favorite is midnight blue |

| Isn't it funny that most Victory adds for the Vision were with the Steel Grey in 2008? Man mine is midnight cherry and I even caught on to that one! LOL. |

I love Metallic Midnight Blue. Over the years to come, I am going to get with a real artist with an eye for color and see if they can come up with a Metallic Midnight Blue/"some other color" (Two tone) plus Chrome theme for the Vision. |

Posts: 59 Woodstock, GA | Most of us being ex-Harley riders, we all understand that a man's gotta make it his own - that's the beauty (and fun) of it. Everyone should do what makes them happy.
My Super Steel is still that, but I've added silver and gold pinstriping, which looks really good. I do, however, plan on painting - not sure what to though. The gold would be a nice accent color, but won't "pop" too much (gray and gold are both muted colors), but if I choose a color that "pops" too much, will it be obnoxious? Something like candy-apple red or burnt orange - along those lines... |

Posts: 65 Newburgh,IN | I think the Super Steel Gray is the best looking color of the 3 offered. My Vegas is Silver, my truck is Silver my Polaris Sportsman 500 is Gray & Black, & my Wifes SUV is Dark Grey. The Vision just fits right in.

Posts: 64 Altoona, Wisconsin | I liked the Super Steel Gray the best of the three original colors as well. Agree that it might become something of a collector's item as the only original color only offered one year. I haven't seen the new blue in person, but have heard from someone that was in Vegas, that it looks better than it does in the photos. No plans right now to add chrome pieces to my SSG, but I may look into having the dashboard painted or powder coated black to lessen the glare/reflection in the windshield. |

Posts: 150 Las Vegas, Nevada USA baby! | SSG = Super Steel Grey, and SSG is also the name of my favorite sniper rifle made by Steyr Arms! ( http://www.steyrarms.com/index.php?id=5 )
That doesn't have anything to do with why I like the color though.
I prefer the lighter colors for motorcycles for the safety reason of being easier to see.
The Super Steel Grey was the lightest color available between the three.
Visibility, being seen by cage drivers is more important on my list as I grow older.
Besides that it just looks good.

Posts: 59 Woodstock, GA | Question for all you SSG owners - what colors does it look like to you are in the metalflake in the paint? I think I saw blue and purple. If you wanted to paint a complementary color on some parts (say the aluminum ones), does that really even matter? Will it be noticeable? |

Posts: 106 Illinois | My opinion is it would not matter. I was thinking of painting mine as well. I'm leaning towards painting everything the same SSG color for more of a uniform look.

Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | I'm with you guys! One of the first things I mentioned about the new Visions was that I was GLAD they discontinued the Steel Gray but was disappointed by their choice of blue. Discontinuing the SSG is the best thing Victory could have done for us SSG fans! IF I were to ever sell my bike, "Rare Super Steel Gray" wouldn't hurt any (not that I'd ever consider it at this point; of course). As for the brushed aluminum panels: They DO look right against the SSG but I am toying with some other options with a local graphics artist. BTW, good call on the Midnight blue. A Midnight blue metallic would have looked 10x better on a bigger bike. That's what I was kinda hoping to see when I heard they came out with a blue bike. Have you ever noticed; as a rule, that lighter colors don't look as hot on bigger vehicles? Think about it. Does pastel blue look better on a full sized SUV or a compact car? Anyway, SSG was dark enough to make the beefy v-twin "pop" while still maintaining a sports-car like image for the bike. I liked the other 2 colors for 08 as well and almost couldn't decide but the trim just looked right for the SSG, IMO. |

| SSG was the only choice for me!
My '04 FX4 is a few shades darker, but it is grey.
I may black or carbon fiber the dash to do away with the glare on the windshield, but SSG is the only way! |

Posts: 102 Madison, AL | Like some have said before, if I wanted to stay parked in the garage and polish chrome all day I would have kept my HD, however I like to ride, so chrome wasn't what I wanted. I got the SSG Tour Comfort and slaped on all the accessories that they had in the 2008 catalog, except for the chrome and highway pegs. I still don't know what they are for. When I look at highway pegs its like he old RCA Dalmation looking staring at the Victrola. (I'm short and could't reach a set of highway pegs sitting on a stack of books). What was nice is that the non-chrome pieces look very nice against the Grey. If I had to pick the Midnight Cherry or Black chrome would almost be a must to look good, but the SSG looks good with the brushed panels. Thanks Victory! |
