Never worried about since I can't see it as a hidden problem.

Sounds like you're referring to the exhaust crossover pipe that feeds the left muffler, if so, yes it's normal, that is why you have chrome heat shields, to hide the discolored pipes. |

Any body know of a way to clean that up? I really hate the ugly thang showin' itself when the bike is on the kickstand. |

Posts: 88 Billings, MT | A good fix for blued crossover pipe is to paint it. Clean the cross over pipe very well with solvents. Lightly sand the surface. Mask off the areas you dont want painted. Using BBQ and stove paint (high heat paint), paint the tube flat black, now part has disappeared!!!!!! |

Posts: 102 Northeast Pennsylvania | You are correct everyone I have seen (5) including mine are discolored. I used some chrome cleaner on mine some came off but I didn't have enuff time to keep cleaning it...didn't bother me enuff to stop riding.. I'll give it some more attention when it starts snowing. |

| I am considering either wrapping and painting or a heat reduction coating to hopefully improve the cooling properties of the lifetime oil filter and to extend the life of the drive belt. |
