Savannah, GA -Year round riding!! Yay!

I turned 10,000 miles last Saturday on my way home from our trip to Michigan! Woo hoo! (I got my Vision mid December, 2007...)

Now, the bad news. We got stuck in traffic at rush hour coming into Chicago. 10 mph for about 15-20 miles. So much engine heat..... 1st gear....2nd gear.........1st gear.....2nd gear...... my forearm still hurts.....

Then my clutch started acting weird on the way home. I took my ViVi into the dealer last Tuesday. They haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I hope I didn't warp my clutch plates....

But other than that, and my handlebar stereo controls acting up again, this was the best road trip I have ever done on a bike!! Just under 4,000 miles round trip.

I'm jealous!!!

I've had my Vision since April 5th and have only racked up 5,000 miles and still haven't done a "long" trip on it yet. I'm getting married in October and due to all the wedding plans and such just haven't been able to travel like I am used to doing, but if everything goes ok this month then I will at least be able to ride to Spirit Lake, Iowa for the Victory 10th anniversary celebration..............but that's not really a long trip either is it when coming from the Chicago area? Oh well.........like this Cubs fan knows so well, there's always next year......

I wonder if your clutch issue might be as simple as a oil change? how long has it been, and im wondering if the extended crawling in traffic shortened the oil's life?

I'm hoping it's something as simple as that. 2,500 miles is a little ridiculous, on a machine built for long trips!!! I had it changed the day before we left, put in Amsoil, so I hope it gave me a little longer life.....

Congrats!! I have yet to do a "long" trip on mine, and I have had it since the end of November, but am less than 200 miles behind you!! I will definately have 10,000 by weeks end. But now i am looking at the 10th anneversary model with reverse, and that paint....and the chrome...I never bought two bikes in less than a year...ever! -----Metalguy

You are so right, I have to laugh.. I've changed the oil in my Vision 3 times in the last 2 months.. and its coming up on another one. I can't stop ridin' this beast!!!! Wonder what the dealer will give me for a trade in so I can get the Anniversary.. what a cruel prank to have a 1st year edition followed by an anniversary edition the next year. Has any other company set that standard before this one.
