Posts: 111 Salina, KS | Let me start by saying I've been "bikeless" for a year, having sold my 09 Vision last December and decided I need to start looking for a replacement. I went to my local dealer Saturday and they had two new ones sitting there, a black one and a bronze one. I immediately noticed black parts versus chrome on things like handlebars, front tip-overs and switch cubes but was surprised to see the top edge of the lower trunk shell didn't meet the sides of the trunk lid very good and virtually an unpainted edge at the same spot. Two bikes with identical issues and I was disappointed to say the least. Have you guys noticed the same thing on new bikes? |

The left saddlebag does not open without help, the lower edge sticks on the body work holding it from openning. 2. The top cover on the fairing has rough edges and does not align correctly with the outer edges of the fairing, it sticks up. And the paint chipped in two spots when I put it back on the other day... Otherwise, everything else looks good. |

| Vic has gone cheap with black controls on all the bikes. Before buying make sure the bike is the way you want it. Don't be afraid to travel to find what you want. |

I was doing some research prior to purchasing and the overwhelming feedback I got on a used Vision is to pull the trigger on a 09. I noticed as you mentioned I have a lot more chrome components vs them being painted on the newer models. The drawback is that I do not have ABS, but I have never owned a bike with the ABS so I guess I don't know what I am missing. Many have complained about the overall fit and finish of the bike for years and it seems to me Victory has done little to fix the situation. I'm coming from a BMW K1200LT that had 137K miles before I sold it. It took me some time to get used to the rattling that I didn't have before with the BMW. I just figure that's the nature of the beast rolling with a Vtwin. It was a toss up between a newer K1200LT and the Vision, but I have the expectation I should be able to get 100K hopefully worry free miles, which may be wishful thinking on my part. |

Posts: 111 Salina, KS | Thanks for the replies guys, I was just surprised to see the poor quality on a bike they have produced for a few years now. At this point I'm leaning heavily towards a XCT with integrated wind management, "third" brake light, LED lighting, etc. IMO these are things that should have been addressed on the Vision by now. I don't think you can imrpove the handling, comfort or beauty of a Vision but the little things mentioned above aren't exactly "rocket surgergy"! |

| I don't believe that Victory went cheap with the changes as much as it was economics. I believe that they are investing in taking a chunk of the HD market with the XC tour model. That being said they dropped the retail price on the Vision by 2 grand. Remember reading on here some were not happy about that. With the price drop came with some subtle changes and chrome seems to be one of the hits. As far as fitment of the parts I have noticed that every V built in 2013 has the exact same fitment problem. To bad that the factory didn't address these issues before they let them out the door. As far as the chrome goes for about 2 grand I could have it back. Not that important to me I guess....... |

The windshield trim coming up at the corners is "normal". Pop the offending end up and carefully tweak it with your hands. Pop it back in place and it's good to go. |
