I was riding the vision in a parking lot when the rear pedal hit the floor, got the bike home and bled the rear and got a little pedal back. Took it out and it again failed, is there a gremlin in the rear break set up and if so what part is the weak link? Was gonna start with the master cylinder. any insight would be great. thanks... 09 Ness vision 15,000 miles

I wish I knew the answer to this one. I've never had it happen to me and I've never changed or bled my brakes since owning the bike. I've never had an issue with them either. I believe the problem may have something to do with the linked system, or there is a defective member. Brakes are an air-tight hydraulic system and the slightest induction of air or moisture will cause the brakes to fail as described. The simplest thing to do is check and make sure the connections are tight and there are no leaks. Check the lines to ensure there is no rubbing where it has worn through. As the book suggest, when you bleed the brakes, always start with the closest caliber first and work your way away from the master cylinder. Put a visual on the entire brake lines and inspect thoroughly. There is no voo-doo with this, it is either a bad something or other, or the brakes are not being properly serviced if you are loosing pressure so easily.

Someone recently mentioned a bad crimp on one of the lines; on the '08's at least.

When i bought my vision, it had a mushy feel to the rear brakes. The dealer informed me that it was good and that I just had to get used to that feel. Never felt right to me. 2 days later sitting on top of hill at red light. I let go of the front brake to use my hand for something else and the bike started to drift backward. I went back to the dealer to bitch and the did a manual bled but it did not feel better to me. I finally got the dealer to do what they called a power bled and the issue was solved. Been fine ever since.

there was quite a few 08 and early 09 that the rear brake line had a bad crimp on it.
Bleed the center bleeder on the right from caliper and you'll have rear break. Using rear break pedal.
If you park your bike like I do for five months tie the pedal down or set a weight on pedal that way air can not get in.
