Did you know that Victory has upgraded the Vision speaker tweeters for a louder & better sound . Have to get a part number so I can upgrade. Also improved gauge lighting and standard Billet wheels on the premium pkg.

And headlights that don't come till after the bike is started.

Does anybody know all the differences / chances / improvements from the 2008 to the 2009 Vision?

I say that Victory lets us first year buyers who took a chance on thier "vision" allow us to retrofit as many as possible.........its funny how Polaris is keeping the new model "tweaks" under thier hat.

Someone posted that hog-wired came out with a kit for the Vision on a seperate thread. It looked like it ran something like $800, if I remember correctly. My guess would be that it would be superior to the current OEM and the 09' tweaked ver. It comes with an amp that mounts under the seat.

Its, www.hawg-wired.com
You can find their system for the Vision on the Arlen Ness site. Hawg wired will be advertising the system on their own website in the next week or two. The system is made to just plug straight in with no splicing or scratching your head trying to match wire colors.

And the 2009 Visions have an optional reverse. That's one option I would go for. I would much rather have that than ABS. I don't suppose it will rerofit to the 2008 model .

Nope it's only for the 2009 and cannot be fitted on the 2008. Personally I don't see a real need for reverse on the Vision. It's just a matter of parking smart so that you don't have to try and backup uphill. If the parking spot is uphill, just drive in, if it's downhill back it in.

FYI, the reverse option is $1399.00 PLUS installation. Kind of pricey considering I find the Vision is no harder to back up than my VTX.

I'm with you Banjo. For $800 it had better blow my mind like the subs in my truck! Somehow, I don't see that happening.

Actually, I talked to my dealer on Tuesday (Randy's Cycles in Huntley, IL) and the owner, Randy Weaver, stated that the reverse will be able to be added to the 2008 Visions and that the work would take 6 to 8 hours of labor.

Are you confident they know this to be fact? The catalog specifically says this will not work with 08 models and my dealer rep who was at the dealer meeting said they made some changes to the rear housing of the engine/transmission that only allow the reverse option to work with the 09's.

I know only what my dealer told me, I have not actually seen a 2009 catalog, so I guess that it would be best to assume that you are correct and that the reverse kit will only fit 2009 and up Visions.

And the hydraulic clutch isn't supposed to be backward compatible either. I haven't seen an '09, yet, but from the pics, it looks like the front pully cover would need to be changed, at the very least, and the wiring installed.

6-8 hours of labor seems VERY high and would take you to over $2000. Seems like an awful lot of dough to put out so you can go backwards.

That is a lot of money. Probably be easier to trade in a year or two. I, for one, could really use the reverse. Even with the low seat height of the Vision, backpedaling the bike is nearly impossible for me. I have a 27 inch inseam and a physical impairment that make it very difficult. I've been riding for 43 years, and know all about parking a bike so that gravity helps you. Sometimes though, one just gets in a bind. Also, I live out in the country on unpaved roads. Backing a 900 pound bike up, even on level ground, is a two person job on our gravel driveway. Having a reverse is one of those things you never knew you needed until you have had a bike with it. I'm glad to see that it is now an option, but, for the money, it should have been standard equipment on the Vision like it is on the BMW and Goldwing. Still, I prefer the Vision over the other two examples.
