Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | My clutch master cylinder is worn out. The hydraulic bore pin is out of tolerance and the cylinder bore is a little scarred. The front seal was so soft that it felt like wet oatmeal instead of seal rubber. I'm want to replace it with an 8 Ball clutch cable system. Anyone else done this ?? |

| $236 dollars for a new one is insane. Why would they not offer a rebuild. 2 on ebay

Posts: 178 LaGrange, GA | Looks like about $360 worth of parts online. Lever assembly (includes the bracket, switch, lever, bolts, everything,) cable itself, lower bracket to hold the casing in place. It would be an extra ~$120 now, so you won't really break even until you have to replace the cable twice (about $105 each.) That's assuming you'd go through another master cylinder as fast as you'd go through two clutch cables. You'll lose the auto adjustment hydraulic offers and the new lever assembly will be black. Cable will be easier to fix if you're out on a trip and something goes wrong.
I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just rattling off the pros and cons that come to mind as I think through it. |

( nice to have friends in the business) So I'll stay with the hydraulics. But I'll definately flush and replace fluid every year or so.......... |
