Has anyone experience a squeaking sound from the trunk area when the bike is running?

Sort of sounds like something is rubbing...but I can't seem to find anything that is loose.

My trunk squeaks too. I will try the weather strip idea. All this time I just figured it was a mouse.

Thanks,

This is a great idea. I guess it beats putting a mouse trap in the trunk. :-)

You can also try putting some electrical tape around the trunk latch. That will tighten up the seal.

Two things to try:

1st - open the lid and wiggle it a little to the left. I had an annoying sqpeak and that's what fixed it for me. Seems the lid shifted just enough for the two pieces of the right side hinge to rub against each other. Then...

2nd - spray a little dry film lubricant on both hinges.

That should clear it up for ya!

I'd also suggest you REMOVE the trunk and put some sticky back foam tape where the trunk rubs on the body panel (don't worry about specific location you'll see it when you remove the trunk).
