Posts: 119 CASTRO VALLEY, CA United States | Because of the front fender investigation, I now know that there are only 6,689 other Visions like mine. 6,690 units sold from 2008 to 2013 means 1,338 units a year. Is that alot? With such small number of sales, can the Vision be considered a custom bike? Are XCTs outselling Visions? |

Posts: 573 Central Illinois | That is indeed a small number but the Vision never was a big seller. Who cares? It is what I ride and I like it. There is no doubt that XCTs outsell Visions. They are a lot more like their HD competition than we are and they do not offend so many people with their appearance. Face it, somebody must go first, and that is us this time. |

Still a mass produced assembly line bike, hardly a custom.
Arlen Ness BTW did not design the Vision, it was designed in house like any other Victory, by Victory's own design team. The Ness signature series bikes are just factory bikes with Ness accessories and paint added plus the Ness signature. |

Posts: 178 LaGrange, GA | Before I got my Vision the only one I had ever seen was at the 2007 International Motorcycle Show in Atlanta. I think it was 2007, at least. The bike was their showcase trophy, I had not even seen the production version in magazines yet, just some of the early concept drawings. Then I went five years without seeing another one. Went to a demo day and test drove one to make sure I wanted it, then the next day bought a nice example on eBay. I had never seen one in the wild, just at two Victory demonstrations.
Mine wasn't delivered until five weeks later. The day it came in I was awestruck at its condition - the original owner was apparently obsessive at cleaning and upkeep. The guy driving the truck thought it was new, even though it was four+ years old. The first SSG I had ever seen. Dad and I stood there circling it just taking it all in for ten minutes at the drop-off point. Went to the house (the long way) to pick up the wife, put about 200 miles on it that day. When we got home we were tired - I had never ridden a bike as big aside from the demo ride, and hadn't ridden 2-up since I was a kid on dirtbikes. So I ran down to Valley, AL to get us some pizza. On the way back home I passed a truck with a Ness Vision on a trailer headed North. I spent five years never seeing one out in the wild (and I had been looking, I had a thing for them since the motorcycle show) and I run across one the same day I finally got one. Dammit -- I was already digging the exclusivity and I lost it less than six hours after I got it.
I've only ever seen one more, last summer at the WalMart in Valley, AL. Dirty as hell, clearly out on a long tour. Florida plates. I stood around it for about ten minutes hoping the rider would come out so I could introduce myself, but couldn't wait any longer because I had frozen stuff in the truck. In retrospect I should have left a note, because it was highly likely that person is on one of the forums. Yeah well, maybe next time. You can't throw a rock without hitting a Heritage Softtail Classic, or UltraGlide, or whatever the hell letters they call all those models.
I suppose that's what 6690 means to me.

Posts: 14 Vancouver, WA United States | I hate to break it to you, but your numbers are incorrect. It's now 6691! I picked up my Vision last week!
I went for a ride last week and had to stop for gas. As I was filling up, some grumpy old fart comes up to me and tells me he doesn't like my bike, that Victory is just trying to copy HD. I asked him to show me what part of my Vision was copied from a Harley. He just grumbled and walked away. 6690 means I ride something unique, something most people wont see every day.
I belong to a riding club and we have about 40 members. There are now four of us that ride Visions. The other members have started calling us the Cult of Victory. Suits me fine... |

| I don't think this number is the total Visions out there, only the ones sold in the states, or do you think it includes international sales as well? I am in Canada, although I have only met one other person with a Vision, I would hazard a guess that the number is USA only. Regardless I love my Vision 2012, use to be a wing rider for 25 years prior to my Vision, will never go back! |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | I read the report. Thanks for posting that. BUT it's only including 08-13 models that means if you use the average of 1338 per year and half of the 2014 model year is over there may be 7300+ Visions out there, hey one day it'll make it to 10,000 but we'll never know because Polaris is so secretive......... |
