Posts: 309 Vineland, NJ United States | I plan to remove my L1 mufflers and put back on my OEM mufflers. Any tricks or tips I should know about? I am leaving the fuel controller and Lloyd's top filter in place. I just want a little quieter. It looks simple....but that's why it scares me  |

| spray some WD-40 on exhaust clamps and where muffler slides onto header. It will really help.
Pull the side trim below the saddle bag lids to get at the muffler supports.
Good half day job |

Posts: 2300 Georgia, west of Atlanta | I've changed the mufflers from stock to L2's to thunderheaders and back to L2's. Do take the trim piece off the bottom of the saddle bags it makes the job much easier................ |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | The fuel processor settings should be fine. The stock Vic pipes flow air pretty well. Since you don't have to do anything when you change them out with aftermarket pipes, it would reason that you don't have to change anything when you swap back to stock. The high flow air filter is a different matter.
Think of it this way. In order to flow more fuel, you have to inhale and exhale through garden hoses, not straws. The OEM Vic exhaust is already a garden hose, the OEM intake is a straw. The S1L1 exhaust is just a louder garden hose (it still flows about the same amount of air). Adding a top filter definitely changes your intake from a straw to a garden hose. You aren't changing that. |

once you put stock mufflers back on stop. Don't do any thing ells and take a day ride to see if you like it. That way you don't need to a lot of work if you don't |
