| I've been riding trunkless for two years and relying on the stock front speakers for my entertainment. Earlier this month I decided to do finally upgrade my sound using Dain's suggestions with a slight modification. Since I ride trunkless there are no rear speakers nor any aftermarket help for my Custom 2008 Vision (see my album). So I brainstormed aand had an Epiphany. I used the awesome infinity speakers up front and installed a set of wakeboard tower speakers (modified to fit the grabrails.). All I can say is I love it. Sounds great and loud and clear even at 80+mph on highway. Best of all I still have my luggage rack and bags (one with amp) Here are a few pics (apologies for bad shots, normal camera is shot).

| lol, I agree, the look is definately not traditional but it does go inline with the whole "Spaceship" mantra. Someone else told me they looked like rocket packs. Yet, they are effective. I hear the entire range, I have surround sound, I still have my luggage rack, it doesnt interfere with passengers, and I still have my saddle bags. And in my opinion, still looks and rides better without the trunk. This is my prototype to see if it actually worked. I'm gonna play around with different styles of towers to see which one flows with the lines of the bike more naturally. I wanted to mount them under the luggage rack but they hit up against the light markers even with a lay down license plate. Right now I'm just going to enjoy the ride. Headed to SC tomorrow so that should be fun for 5 - 6 hours of riding. Thanks for the comment.

| I must say, these speakers survived 5 days of straight riding, both solo and with passengers. They are very durable and I loved being able to have surround sound while on the highway. Lots of pics were taken of the bike along with other vision riders asking where to get them. So all in all, I'm happy with them. Still looking at swapping them out for some 6x9s (Boss MRWT69). |

| Wow, really? That's way too much for me. If it was meant to be funny, then the joke is on us all as vision riders. No one makes a rear speaker option for trunkless riding on the vision. The Harley's, have saddle bag speakers, so does the cross bikes. I love my vision and found a solution that works for me. To each their own. I'm not out to win a sound contest, I just wanna be able to enjoy my sound while riding. So far the 6.5s are ok but most saddlebag speakers are 6x9 hence my interest. |

Posts: 1066 Peru, IN | Now you've got me thinking, Vision-Marine. I think those are a bit big (I know it was just an experiment) but there's not alot out there, especially without spending hundreds of bucks. I'm gonna have to put my brain in gear and see if I can't come up with something in fiberglass. I don't have the passenger backrest and nobody's ever been on the pillion but I DO strap my lunchbox to it. Maybe something that would incorporate some sort of butt rest. (NOT backrest but something closer to a couple inches taller than the seat, just so a future passenger wouldn't feel like they were sliding off. Might also give the 2 speakers a more integrated look.) |

My photo (ala photoshop) was DEFINITELY a tongue-in-cheek star-trek design. Though it does make one think out-of-the-box possibilities! |

Now somebody go make me one.

Jeff --- That's similar to a design I came up with last night except I thought about (2) 6 1/2" speakers instead of a sub. I always thought the Vision would look badass with a solo seat. |

I do know someone in Baltimore who installed 6 by 9 speakers in the saddle bag of the victory vision. I will try to get pictures. The fabricator says the speaker only takes up a litttle space in the saddle bag. the back of the speakers sticks out on the inside of the side panels. |

Thats a very nice concept. My question is, is that only one speaker or two? Only drawback I see is the loss of a luggage rack and uncomfortable for passengers. |

Thanks Monkeyman. I think that when vendors find out that their is a demand for rear speakers in street mode for visions, they will collectively come out with something. Right now, I promisie you, I'm enjoying my surround sound. Dont forget, I think they would look alot better mounted on the luggage rack. The only problem is, I use my Luggage rack. I didnt want to take away any storage capability for road trips. |

I think this is the one you were talking about. It's a very clean install. My issue is, the sounds seem to be for everyone to the side of you. I want sounds that direct towards the rider/Passenger. My hats off to his creativity though.
