Posts: 550 Tacoma, WA | Hi folks, I just hate to post this, but I found a crack in my fairing the last time I washed my bike. It is just below the windshield trim piece, in the painted plastic. It appears to me that it occured due to maybe a thin spot in the plastic, normal vibration, and use. NOT really my fault. I looked it over VERY carefully before I brought it to my dealer, as I wanted to be sure there was no impact to that area before I accused any defect. But, there was no signs of paint damage, so I believe no impact occured....and we ALL know how soft that paint is! So far, the service guys are trying to explain away that there may have been some sort of impact there, maybe that I knew nothing about! I told them I am not buying that story, as if there was, there would be a blemish in the paint where impact ocurred. I am not mad, I just want it fixed by them as a defect. I told them this. I even told them to take their time looking at the bike, take pics, or whatever they need to submit to Victory, but I want it fixed. I baby this bike, and never impacted anything but bugs. What do you guys think I should do?-----Metalguy |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | Sounds like a manufacturing defect to me. Considering the dimples in some side bags. If its an injection molded part, could have come up short of material. |

| metalguy, is it cracked through the fairing? Not sure if you thought to look inside by removing the ws cowl. Even if it was a rock thrown into it, shouldn't make any difference as it should NOT have cracked. Maybe this is something we should ALL have a look for/at on our own bikes. If it is occurig on more than one it would be an issue for sure.
Oh and sorry for the bad fortune MetalG.... I think your handling it right so far. Keep us posted and maybe other folks should have a look, I will. If I find anything I'll let you know. |

I know I don't have it, but I could be looking at the wrong area. Also, I've got 18k+ on the bike now and it seems to be settled in. I should be good to go after the reflash of the EFI and audio, then the replacement of bag lids. |

Posts: 550 Tacoma, WA | I will post some pics after I get the bike back today, ok? I didn't take anything apart, as I didn't want that to be an excuse for them to NOT warranty it. -----Metalguy |
