Went to the dealer the other day and he had an 09 catalog for new goodies on the Vision. The first thing I saw were the Toe Pads and made an order on the spot along with the risers for the rear floor boards. Got the goods today and spent less than an hour installing the same. "If" the pics don't show here I'll post them in the gallery for all to see. The Pads were less than $35.00 and are well worth the cost (if you are like me and never got around to putting down some sort of protection under the shifter). The risers are a straight forward install just be careful and keep CLOSE track of your spring and ball once you pull them out from their hole to put them in their new home!!

Ride Safe, Ride Often!!

My legs are too short to reach the paint past the floor board. My paint is safe. I guess that this is one part I do not need. The pads do look good.

My dealer doesn't have any of the 09 stuff yet. At 6'3", it is only a matter of time before I scuff mine. This is definately on my radar and it looks great, Bearcat!

Perfect! I wear steel toes everywhere and I have been worried about getting into the paint since day 1. Thank you for the post bearcat! I was just about to waste my time with the "invesishield" material tomorrow afternoon! I missed this in the 09 cat.

I have the Clear toe protectors from Invisa-gaurd. My toes never touched up there though... I recently ordered some 09 accessories from my local victory dealer. The rear brake chrome cover came in and a few other items came in. but the Mirror chrome ring is going to take 2 months they said! Im trying to remember everything i ordered. the parts are at the dealer still, i need to pick them up. oneo f the things were a chrome dip stick that tells you your oil temp, that i actually have installed now.. i ordered a chrome cover for the left side of the bike for that piece that moves when you pull in the clutch level. I was wondering if the chrome tip over protection covers would work with the 1.5 inch extended floorboard risers?

For those that are interested I beleive the same catalog has a heal/toe shifter for the Vision. That's what I'm holding out for.

I didn't want to cough up $100.00 for the 1" risers, so I made mine out of stainless. Mine raised the 'boards up 2" for my ...petite passenger! Just put them on Saturday, need to road test them now. I doubt I will be making any more, as these were a pain to machine. Maybe I will make some out of polished Al.-----Metalguy

I ordered & have received the following from the '09 catalog: toe pads for the front fairings, front fender trim, truck lock trim. All look great & were easy to install using the VHB tape enclosed with the parts. Now to the parts I really wanted to work 1st time & one of them hasn't (so far). The lower wind deflectors are a real PITA to install. Both look good & work great @ moving the air where you need it. What ain't so great is that I'm having difficulty getting the lower bracket of the right side deflector to stick I caught it trying to come off while riding yesterday.Since I had read the previous posts about this possibly happening, I had the good fortune to bring the correct sized wrench w/ me on the ride. When I noticed that the lower bracket had "let loose",I stopped ASAP and took the wind deflector off & put it in the trunk. I stuck the bracket back on the fairing, where it rode nicely 'til I got home.
Stopped @ a NAPA store on the way home from my S.O.'s house and bought some "super strength" adhesive tape from 3M to re-apply the bracket with. Will let it "set up" for 72 hours (as recommended by the body shop guy) and then re-attach the deflector. Gonna keep a close eye on them 'til I'm comfortable that they have adhered properly.

Has anyone drilled out the bracket and then attached them with bolts, washers & nuts? If so, what do I need to look out for when drilling through the fairing?

make sure the brackets aren't backwords on the one thats not sticking,
my right side came in the package wrong. they are contured for the fairing and are not identicle.

I was wondering how the floorboards risers would mount of effect the chrome tip over protection.. I mean would they dent or scratch the chrome covers? i was even wondering how they would look with the chrome covers since they themselves are Not chrome..

I can't address that for you. My rear tip over bars are silver.
