You can. I'm going to try it, but I've decided to replace the CB antenna staff that Victory sends in their kit with a tunable staff from Wilson before I go any farther. The stock victory antenna is 2 FT high and is not tunable. After checking my SWR's, I found that the stock antenna needs to be improved. It's completely out of the acceptable range on channel 1 and only marginally acceptable on channel 40. A tunable antenna should cure that. I already have an antenna splitter, that I got from Wolcott CB, that should work. Do not use the type that converts an AM/FM antenna for CB use. Those bleed off a lot of the CB transmit power. I'll be using the one that splits the signal from a CB antenna into CB and FM. I'll let you know how it works out, but it will probably be at least a week before I get back to the project.

You can use the CB antenna as an AM and FM antenna with the device below. I thought about it but if I took off my trunk I would not have the AM FM antenna....unless I plugged in the front blade again.

That is exactly the device that I am using. However, as I said, the SWRs were not satisfactory before I put the splitter on, and the splitter's load matching srew was not able to make it any better. That's not the splitter's fault, since it is not intended to be a load matcher. I ordered a new, tunable, antenna staff and will try again. I also ordered an FM extension cable, since the splitter only comes with an 18 inch cable. I'm pretty confident that it will work.

I had and interesting observation while out riding yesterday. I tuned to radio to a station and it was receiving poorly. No big deal, just switch to the MP3 player. When I got back on the bike after I stop I turned the key to accessory while waiting for the rest of the group to get together. Station was crystal clear. Thought I must be in a good spot. When I turned the key to run to fire up the bike, reception went away. Turn back to ACC., crystal clear again. Conclusion, not so much an antenna issue as interference from the bikes ECM. Just a thought, but maybe it's just a matter of better shielding. I'll ask some of my "ham" friends to take a look and get their input.
