I can finally let you know of a nice compliment paid to Vision Riders by the folks at the Victory plant in Spirit Lake, IA.

Back in early June Vision Riders was contacted by Ben Lindeman, the Victory Assembly Line Manager. He wanted to know if we could help him reward his line workers for making certain goals and to also help him say thank you for a good year. Ben would soon be ending his stint in the plant for another position within Victory. He had come across the Vision Rider logo and thought it was great. Thinking it was part of the Victory brand, he contacted the corporate office to get permission to use it on a run of tshirts for the line workers. It was then he found out we (or it, the logo) were a private entity. Luckily Mike Dapper stepped in and gave Ben my contact info. So, in the end, Vision Riders was glad to give Ben permission to use the logo on a limited run of shirts for the proud employees that assemble your Victorys.

So where's the compliment? Well, first off, I'm flattered that he thought the logo was for the employee Tshirt and that it came from Polaris' art department. Lastly, we're happy to hear that all the line workers thought it was a great gift and now wear it with pride. Each worker has their name silkscreened to the front, just under the Victory logo.

Ben was nice enough to send Miles & me shirts as well. Thanks Ben! And good luck on your next Victory challenge, model year 2011!

The logo is so well designed that you should be VERY careful to protect your intellectual property rights.

I think that if this "tribute" is any indication, you should be able to make a few bucks by allowing Victory to license the design for retail sales.

I recently received my black Vision Riders t-shirt from the online store and have two comments to make.

While I'm sad that the shirt itself wasnt made in America, it is crazy comfortable and well made, and the print job is excellent! I know because I have been involved in the screen printing industry for almost 30 years. You have a good printer, don't be tempted to go cheap.

The rest of you guys out there, if you havent bought one, you should, this is a real quality product!

Only one question, when are the larger sizes of shirts in colors other than "traditional biker black" going to be available again. I'm covered over in black riding gear!

Since I'm no longer acceptable in HD circles; I need some classier riding gear.

Very nice! Can that design be added to the Vision-Riders store, or did they trademark it?

That's odd, when I made my t-shirt for myself, I got scolded quite handily. I wonder why the scolding wasn't handed out equally. Oh, well, glad somebody got to use the design.

Hey, JAM, is it possible to get a jpeg of the logo? I'd like to see about making a patch for it, or even getting it embroidered on my vest.

I can provide you with the Vision Pilot Logo in jpeg or Adobe Illustrator format. I think Pollolittle is making patches with that logo if he can stay away from the Doctor Pepper. ;-)

I am "ONLY" working on patches for the VISION PILOT Logo, which is a separate, unique, and distinctly different design than the one associated with this site. Legal Disclaimer. I am using the logo I am working on with permission.

Sorry about being late posting. Glad they liked it.

My only question is will any new shirts have pockets? When you get old like me you need a place to put your glasses. A friend keeps buying me HD shirts with pockets... jerk..... but free cleaning clothes for my Victorys is cool too. )

Thanks for the props folks...

We are looking into other color shirts, and also looking at doing a "shop" or "mechanics" type shirt.

You can put me down for a Mechanics shirt or even three, especially if it has snap or button down collars.

I'm all for some other wearables... I own 4 of the t-shirts. (2 for me and 2 for the wife - long sleeve in Black and short sleeve in gray)

I do like the idea of some embroidered mech shirts or even a golf polo. Even an embroidered sew on patch!

Just do it! The community is growing strong!

I like both the shirts but I was to late to get the Pilot/ Co-Pilot shirt and the Vision-Rider shirt only goes up to 2x (I'm a 3x kind of guy) Who do I need to ask for permission to use the logo to make a 3x for myself?

We are always looking to provide the best quality merchandise at a reasonable prices. Unfortunately in the textile industry "Made In USA" does not necessarily equal "quality" at any price. However, chances are any "quality" garment that contains cotton (like the Tee-Shirts we sell here on Vision Riders), is probably made with Cotton from the USA.

Seriously,

Made in America does equate to jobs in America, and money spent on those products staying here in America. Important things considering the nasy state of the economy.

Offering domestic products might just have a calling here, IMHO

When I was much younger, there used to be a TV commercial for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union that had a catchy little song that (I think) said it all.

And given the fact that he remembers ancient Ray Stevens lyrics, I'll bet Donetracey can still sing it! Karaoke anyone!

------------------------------

Look for the union label
when you are buying that coat, dress or blouse.

Remember somewhere our union's sewing,
our wages going to feed the kids, and run the house.

We work hard, but who's complaining?
Thanks to the I.L.G. we're paying our way!

So always look for the union label,
it says we're able to make it in the U.S.A.!
--------------------------------

Of course that was long ago and far, far away. Now we have to actively search for products made by Americans and fool around trying to determine if with arcane domestic content rules the product is actually American made.

It's a crying shame.

I already have three vision riders t-shirts, but if you decide to change to a quality USA made product, I'll replace them.

Miles (Vision-Rider) was being nice. Whenever he has shopped for decent-quality tshirts, they've never been made in the US (sad to say). Much of the US-made shirts were, frankly, junk. And you as the end-consumer would be cussing us out for selling junk that barely lasted a riding season. That being said, we have always tried to buy US-made when we think it's worthwhile.

Miles was very helpful in a private message, explained the situation. I should have followed up on here, went back to edit my post, but the 30 minute time limit had expired.
Anyway, as long as Miles thinks that good ol' fashioned USA cotton fibers might just be tainting those foriegn manufactured shirts, its good enough for me....lol

...until there is a quality made in USA shirt found...

I was somewhat disappointed to see that the HD shirts given to one of the posters was used to clean the Vision. I sold my HD and bought a Vision and have many HD tshirts. I will give them away but will not use them to polish or clean the Vic. I see no need for us to be disrespectful of other brands and would hope that we are above this sort of thing. We would not like it if other brand owners used our Vic clothing as rags.

would it of been disrespectful if it was a Ford shirt?

My HD fellow worker and I joke about this all the time. You have such a great idea, just throw those HD shirts out and fill the landfill instead of recycling. Disrespect over a $10 t-shirt?
When I told the girl at the counter when buying him an HD t-shirt I was going to clean my Vision BEFORE I gave it to him she started laughing butt off.

Its not the price-its what the action stands for. Also I advocate giving unused clothing to the clothing recyclers-not necessarily in the land fill. If they do go into the fill-at least they are biodegradeable.
