| The family wants me to get a Spot. They like knowing where I am on long trips. I borrowed Pete's a few years back so....
Gen 3 Rechargeable batteries, longer battery life, motion sensor, USB charge to name a few----- $99 after $50 mail in rebate
Gen 2 Only Lith bateries, no USB ---- $71 at Amazon.
Yearly subscription---- $149 auto renew.
Yeah, I would use maybe 2 or 3 weeks a year but it would make the family happy----- Priceless
10mm ball mount to mirror hole, 3-3/4 arm and Gen mount on left side.
Got any useful feedback? People are using a different setup? Android apps don't ping satt and I only have WiFi on my Nexus 4 so only send messages when I link up otherwise.
Thanks. Ride safe |

Posts: 233 flagstaff, AZ | I had a gen2, wife loved being able to track my long trips. If I had friends along, I would give there SO's the link so they could follow along as well. I mounted mine in the threaded mirror mount. I would go with the newer tech Gen 3.

Posts: 825 , WI | I have been using a Spot Tracker on trips for the last 4 years. I had a Gen1 and currently have a Gen2. My wife likes it and I like that I can print a map of my trip! |

| Thanks for the pic and to the rest of you. Hope someone has used the Gen 3 to see if it's worth the extra. $30 for gas is better. |
