Posts: 117 South of Houston Tx | I am using an XM Roady pluged into the Aux plug in the ipod compartment. I get an awful lot of engine noise while listening to the XM. I am wondering if any body else is using this input for anything and is experiencing engine noise through the radio? I really suspect the XM antenna wire but thought I'd ask. |

Posts: 117 South of Houston Tx | I kinda figured that would be the response, like I said, I think it's being induced through the antenna wire of the Roady, I will try to relocate it and see what happens. It's not so bad, I don't mind hearing the engine a little, sounds good! But it shouldn't be there Soooo. |

Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | I have had problems in a vehicle (not the Vision) with engine noise on an XM Portable, but the problem was with the Power Connection and not the antenna. As soon as I unplugged the 12v power, the noise stopped. I don't know if the Roady has battery, but try it not plugged into the Vision power port and see.
If it is the power, you may need to see if there is some sort of noise filter you can put on the power line.

Might want to contact XM. I recieved an email from them for a recall for interfearence on some models. They have a fix. Not sure if it's the same problem. Might be worth looking into. Mostly ones that transmitt to an FM frequency. |
