I've been considering this for a while. I have S1L2 exhaust with baffles removed, so worry about being too lean. Or too rich. I never freaking know.
Would the added filter affect that?

You don't have any other mods?

I have the original Lloydz one. With the "Big Honkers". Sounds good.

i had the original Lloyd filter then this year i got the Ness filter.. i really like the ness filter...i was shocked how much dirt the orignal lloyd filter let inside my engine... i know this from the dirt i had to clean out when i went to install the ness filter.. the lloyd filter i could see through it pointed up at the sky.... i guess there was a REASON why it was redesigned... lol

I found a leaf in my top filter. It will let in more air and maybe lean your motor out to much. If you have really good hearing your going to here air being sucked in

I did pipes and top filter before I got a fuel controller. Kevin told me to disconnect my O2 sensors to prevent a lean condition.
Bike ran awesome.
My 2008 has a Ness and I could hear is suck air. I was a little freaked out at first when I put the Lloydz filter in my 2013. The noise I could hear in the top of the motor sounded mechanical almost. There was no problem. After a week I didn't even notice anymore.

From what I am reading, it sounds like a can add either the Ness or Lloyds upper air filter and get a little bit of a gain and a better breathing bike without any other mods?

I have added the Lloyds ATS and I have disconnected my O2 sensors.

So the Ness is $72 and the Lloyds is $94 is there a big difference between the two other than the $22 ?

I am planning on doing a PCV and a tune with Rylan next summer.

Thanks,
-Lance

Lloyd claims 7-8 ho gain. I don't know about that, but you will feel it for sure.

the ness and the lloyds appear to be almost the same.. im sure little dimension differences are not going to provide any Butt dyno differences..

Lloyds http://www.lloydz.com/store_content/products_media/VIF-002.jpg

Ness http://www.phatperformanceparts.com/photos/AN-V-5160.jpg

both use the same material k&n uses. little shape differences are not going to be the Be all ,end all,of anything..

i still have my Original one as well... after comparing the ness one to the version 1 Lloyds. i will never put the Original one back on the bike... like i said before. when i held it up to the light and i could see through it.. i thought to myself... how the is this thing filtering much.... i mean if i can see right through it and understand what i am seeing on the other side.. im pretty sure microns worth of dirt have No problem at all flowing right through.. and when i removed it to install the ness filter i actually had to Clean out the inside of the frame where it feeds the engine the air..

the Lloyds is actually fair amount bigger with more surface area, don't know if it makes noticeable difference or not?  I had both, currently running Lloyds.

When I first got the flat top filter, I was immediately suspect of the same thing, Arkainzeye... you could see right through it. But as a former dirt go kart racer, we put clean and oiled K&N air filters on every night we raced. That being said, I sprayed K&N oil on my Vision's flat top filter since the first time I used it. I may clean it 2-3 times a year, and the top of the filter is full of dust and debris, but inside the plenum of the frame and EFI airhorn is clean... I haven't been able to feel any dust with my fingers, yet. It may not catch all of the dust, but oiling it certainly does help significantly. If you don't want to flip the bill for one of the other filters (like me), it's just a suggestion...

Like the man said if you do a lot of dirt roads or live in very duty country stay with stock filter and don't use the top filter.
Dust getting in motor will cause more problems they you want.

Lloydz top filter works great. With top filter, S1L2's and PC5 it made 97.85 HP on the Kyle's dyno............NO cam swap NO timing wheel. Check out that AFR graph : perfect !!! Thanks Kyle.
