Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | Last Saturday, August 23, 2008, I was shocked to find oil on the floor under my Vision. I looked around and saw on the lower left hand side of the engine a small rubber boot that covers a sensor. It had a dip of oil hanging from it. I have been told that this is for the oil system, low oil pressure or whatever.
I took it in that day and was told that the sensor itself was leaking and they put one on order. It is back ordered! The wrench said it was a slow leak and it would be OK to drive. I hope that they get it soon. Becauseā¦..
Today when cleaning my Vision, the left side of the rim on the rear tire, the rear disk brake and calipers were covered in crude. I think it is the oil that is leaking while I am driving blowing back on these parts.
It is a slow leak but I think I need to park it.

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | I tried to find the Online Parts catalog on the Polaris site and it has been moved. Does anyone know where the new location is? I was trying to find the part number of the leaking part. |

| If it's the oil sensor, here's a post on thevmc.com that listed a part#

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | I think I might have that problem as well, seems a little damp but no actual moisture in the area. Another warranty claim. Victory may be learning a lesson on trying to meet a deadline verses putting out a top notch tourer. Even though this was 6 years in the making for engineering, comfort and styling, I think they let their vendors get the best of them. But hey, what are warrantys for? Ride on! |

Posts: 143 Birmingham, AL 08 MC Tour Premium 2012 Bronze Mist | Mine went south within a month of purchase. Dealer got one in pretty quick and replaced with no problem. That was last December though and no availability problems.
Good luck! |

Posts: 354 20 miles west of Chicago. | I just had mine replaced two days before I left for the VMC meet in North Carolina. I was lucky that my dealer got the replacement in time. I feared exactly what is described above; that the leak would worsen and oil would get blown on the rear wheel, brake and tire. The mountain roads I spent some time on could have made that pretty hairy. There was at least one other guy there who had the same problem and was unable to get it fixed before the meet but as far as I know he had no problem other than the leak itself. I'm now thinking that if the replacements are the same manufacturer as the originals, I'm going to watch the new one closely.

Posts: 3006 San Antonio, TX | I forgot to mention in the posts above that I checked the oil (per the owners manual) and it is still full. This is a slow leak but it does not take much oil to make a mess.
Yesterday was our seventh anniversary . The wife and I celebrated by visiting my parents and taking a short shopping trip. This was followed by a dinner with friends.
The Vision left a trail like a dog. Three dips on my driveway just getting turned around to leave and four more at my parents. While at a store at the Rim shopping area I checked the oil again and it was full. More drips.
Off to La Cantera to Dillards and Macys and drip drip drip. Finally to dinner, Carrabbas, mmm this is good. Back to the Vision. My friends were impressed that I could fit all of our gifts that we received at dinner into the storage areas on the Vision. Drip, drip.
Did I buy a motorcycle or a two wheeled Exxon Valdez. |

Posts: 226 on the edge of Los Angeles | Planning a 1,000 mile trip this coming weekend and would like to get mine replaced prior to leaving. If I am unable to get a replacement from the dealer I am trying to locate an alternative sending unit.
These senders look very much the same as the one on my old 65 Dart. Yes they eventually leaked too.
Any one know if the thread is a standard 1/8 NPT and possibly a cross reference to one that would be availbale at a local parts house.

Posts: 506 Woodland Hills, CA | My dealer found the same problem on my bike just as he was finishing the 500 mile service. Of course, they didn't have the part, and did not know when they could get one. The service manager told me that while it was not a problem to ride it with the leak, he was not comfortable letting a bike leave service with a leak. So they took one off a new bike sitting in their showroom to replace the one on my bike, and I was out the door 30 minutes later (and no leaks since then)!!!
I keep reading less than favorable comments about many dealers, but so far mine has been great! |

Great to hear the dealer did that for you. What dealer are you now using as your primary resource?
There are a few of us that are in the same area as you.
BTW I did locate a new switch and its a dealer in Palmdale. |

As I'm the one who posted that on the VMC, I'll tell you the only diff. is the replacement has a blade instead of the button to put the wire back on.., but it works the same.. Did that job on a friends bike, think I'll get a spare for my closet.. |

Did the replacement come with a boot to cover the sensor? I noticed that my boot is missing since I took it to the shop. |
