| I have the 1" lowering link on my 2011 vision. I noticed in the service manual on belt tension and the Ness and 8 Ball Visions which are 1" lower have different belt tensions. Since their drop comes from the shock and mine from the link, I am confused as to which tension should I use?
Thanks,
Jim |

| Thanks for the tip, however I have no way to gauge how far the wheel was was before I installed the link. I will ask witchdoctors. Maybe they will have an idea.

| Witchdoctors doesn't know. Their tech adjusts by feel. I checked my belt and there is a little more than 1/4" of deflection cold with just my hand pressing on it. The reason I am concerned with the belt tension is I am getting a lot of belt roar when coasting to a stop from say 30mph to stop with the clutch in.
Thanks,

| you have to check belt when cold in two or three places. I lowered mine 1" and I have about a 1/2" play. But I just go by feel |

Posts: 112 Denver, Iowa | I have the adjustable rear link on my Vision, and when I lower it between 1"-3", my gas mileage drops about 3-4 mpg, and I'm sure it was due to excessive belt tension. I loosened my belt tension somewhat (I'm not worried at all about a belt that is a little too loose on my bike), and my mileage has returned to normal again. It must be close... right!? lol! |
