i would love to know what kind of an insurance company wants an alarm on the bike... All of my insurance companies have said unless the alarm system came from the factory there is no discounts since there is no proof it will even work correctly. Hell for what a GOOD alarm cost after install you could up your insurance coverage difference and not worry about it. All of my buddies with alarms barely use them anymore as most of them are buggy and more of a hassle than they are worth.. and if you want a Real security option, then you might want to look into Lo-jack. thats a no hype item there. unlike alot of these toy alarm systems

What type of alarm does your insurance want? Passive (auto-arm)? Active (key-fob remote)? Siren only? Or paging system? A mechanical or electrical imobolizer?

Are they "suggesting" you install an alarm? Or "requiring" it before they will insure the bike? They going to give any premium discounts if you install one? Are the discounts different dependent on what type of alarm is installed?

I know...lots of questions. Was simply trying to get as much information as possible so as many possible scenarios can be addressed.

Wonder if your premium would either go up...or possibly down if you install one of these on your passenger seat???

Here's a thread to the Scorpio that we had going for a little while. I have installed this unit myself and they sell a harness (which I used) that makes it plug and play... BUT you WILL have to find a constant 12VDC source. There is one under the seat that is easy to get to. Anway:

Hope this helps

I have the new LowJack system.  If your bike gets moved, it emails you, calls your cell phone and land line and tells you to check your bike.  If it is missing, you call the cops and it starts the homing beckon process.

Their new system is much better than their old system.

HTH,

Tim
