| Another sad day Randys cycle in Huntley is starting a store closing sale this Thursday, 10/9.
Just called to order a rear tire and it was on his answering machine.

Posts: 935 Rockford, IL | No need to be sad !! I was just there Saturday. While they are indeed closing the Huntley location. They ARE opening another location !!! Randy was a bit mum on the exact location of the new store though. He did mumble his lips enough to indicate that it would be on US 20 and it would be a bit west of Huntley. I asked if he was going to Marengo and he said not quite that far. So basically that leaves a few options along 20. He did also say it would be a larger store and there would be room for expansion. One thing I failed to ask though is when this is all happening. Will it be a fluid transition? Or will we be without a location for a little while? They are having a HUGE sale starting this Thursday morning. Randy said they are selling EVERYTHING they CAN so they don't have to move hardly anything. |

Posts: 935 Rockford, IL | Ok...I just got off the phone with Randy, I needed to set up a service appointment for a heated seat issue. I asked him what the overall timeline is for closing, he said it would be about two months before he closes the Huntley store. And he is hoping for a smooth transition to the new store, but then again something like this often times doesn't go as well as all of the best planning efforts.
I also heard somewhere that there is a new Victory store opening in the Naperville area. Any idea as to where & when and the such? |

Posts: 106 Illinois | I was told end of October early November. Also read somewhere that they have the signs up and are moving along. Also read it is on the corner of Fork Hill and New York Ave in Naperville. |

Here is the unofficial scoop. Randy is closing the Huntley store because the building will be coming down do the widening of IL-47. He is looking to relocate in the area of US-20 near the Hampshire I-90 exit (easy on and off for folks coming from either Chicago or Rockford). He intends to get rid of everything in the current store (including shop equipment and tools). The letter you received was not sent by Randy but a third party firm he hired to liquidate the store. The store is currently closed (and covered in big sale signs) while they set up for the big sell off. The store will reopen on Thursday with big saving on everything.
Above is something I read on another forum. Also in case you are not aware there is a new dealer opening in Naperville. I have read as early as next month and as late as next spring

| Mostly correct, but he is NOT selling all his shop equipment, He had a couple of things he was going to sell but his employees purchased them before the sale. I did go to Randy's the day of the "Big Sale". I expected most everything to be at a reduced cost. Most was at a 20% discount.
I have been in Marketing my whole life. Been riding for my second time around since 96. Based on the impression I got from the letter that was sent, I thought it was a liquidation sale. When I arrived the opening day, the place was packed, line almost out the door to pay.
So here we are at the end of the season, Randy is purchasing a building for his new facility and am sure any extra $$ would help. Margins on MC stuff is around 40% or more. Does he keep all the stuff in his shop for another 6 months (he has a boatload) or move it an turn it into $$$ and make 20%?
Absolutely brilliant!!! Everyone who purchased anything feels good about the deal they made, 100's if not thousands come to the shop and maybe he even sells some bikes. He gets rid of a bunch of unwanted inventory that he does not have to move to his new facility, and Randy gets some $$$ to help in the move.
Brilliant!!! Win, Win, Win!! |
