Posts: 23 bowling green ky | Ive got a little problem. I have an 08 vision with 30,000 miles, i know not enough miles. I went riding today with the wifey and we rode about an hour and had to stop and get gas. Well i gased up and went to start my bike and it would turn over really fast but would not start. Just spin over and woudnt hit. So we waited about 30 minutes or so and the bike cooled off and fired right up like normal. Well wifey was pissed so we headed back home, ran like a dream back home, got there shut if off in the garage and it did the same thing, spin over but woudnt hit. I went back out there about an hour later and it fired right up like normal. Im thinking the coil is breaking down but if anyone has an other ideas i would really apperciate any help i can get |

Posts: 251 Mechanicsville, VA United States | I had the same thing happen to mine about two years ago and I can't remember what caused it but KevinX told me what to check.....my mind is pretty much gone.... now minutes later I think he said check the ignition switch where the key goes...Victory replaced a bunch of these on the 08's for this problem plus actually breaking off. Mine is doing it right now ,I may have to replace mine I've got a long trip coming up soon!

Posts: 251 Mechanicsville, VA United States | I emailed KevinX and he said the ignition switch is a Dealer only item and it come with all new locks for the trunk and saddle bags and is a little pricey!
I asked him if the ignition switch could be fixed without changing and I'm waiting on a answer. |

Posts: 1632 Jasper, MO | That recall on the 2008 ignition switches involved putting a wedge and retainer under the switch to keep the contact plate from moving relative to the lock assembly. It takes 15 minutes to do and is free to any owner if it hasn't already been done. It does not replace the entire assembly.
