I may have read along the way, but knew from training, that engine pop can be caused by an exhaust leak. Well, 24,500 miles later, 4 visits to the shop, numereous complaints, new plugs, reflash, and putting up with a ticking like a singer sewing machine, my problem is finally solved. How? a 13mm socket and snugging up of the exhaust bolts at the engine. I put on over 300 miles today and it was a different ride. I didn't have to rev up to take off, or second guess a stall. The engine runs even smoother an that nagging tick noise is gone. I mentioned this on another post but to do those a favor that has a stalling problem and no resolution, check the exhaust nuts. Man, I'm mad at myself for not catching this sooner, and also with all the complaints to the dealer and to Victory, not once was this mentioned or checked. But, none the less I see many more (s)miles ahead.

I always thought there seems to be an exhaust leak sound coming up through the front fairing with my stock pipes (but I only had 500 miles on it). I never checked the bolts. However, After I got my S1 L1 Pipes installed, the sound magically disappeared. I bet they wrenched the bolts tighter when they put the new pipes on.

Tanks for the info! I'll check this as soon as I can. I've not been bothered too much by it because I'm concentrating on something else but she does definitely pop alot (confirmed by myself while riding a loaned demo Vision while mine was being serviced).

Got mine back today after the dealer completed the 500 mile service and the bike runs good the dealer told me they did not do anything but the work order showed they changed the plugs, it runs much better though thats what counts!

Who out there has the popping and stalling issue? Have you checked your exhaust bolts and were they loose it fixed the problem when you tightened therm? Just checking to see if this is an issue or am I the only one it happened too?

I think I had an exhaust leak? Since they replaced the gear indicator switch, no popping. (requires loosening the exhaust). Still have indicator problems, but popping is gone.

Me again. I sent an email to the dealer explaining that my pop and stall issue was solved that I've had since I owned the bike 11 months. The response was that at each service, 3 done by them, 500, 1,500 and 15,00 that the exhaust flanges are checked and tightened each time. So, it is possible that after 8,000 miles when I tightened them at 23,000 they would have worked themselves loose again. I could go for that since I just got the recall a week before discovering the problem, but the ticking sound that has always been there since I bought the bike went away when I tighted the flanges. But based on the 8,000 miles assessment and the nuts working loose, does anyone else out there regulary check the flange nuts and find them to be loose after 8,000 miles? Just checking.

memmememememememmemememememememememememememmemememememememememe, I do it all the time! I absolutely despite loose flange nuts. Drives me crazy. I call big smelly case of pooh on their part. Had they, the problem would have disappeared.
