Pretty good rumor that Victory will be changing the bags to hold more on the 2010 model, which would be a plus.

Not to mention that it's taken so long for Victory to get it here that I'd have very little riding time on it before it gets too cold and the weather turns to snow. Victory should have had the 100 done before bringing the bike out in my opinion.

The bike is on it's way and I was wondering if anyone here would be interested...price yet to be determined, but certainly more than list.

While I haven't totally decided not to take it, I'm leaning that way, mainly because of the slowness of Polaris/Victory in getting it here and forcing me to take a hit on it.

There still are unsold anniversary models to be had. If you don't want it I suggest you don't purchase it. I doubt you'll get more than list. Unless you box it up and keep in stored for 20 years, I doubt you'll get more than you paid for it.

If your willing to sell it for the reasons listed than I would suggest that you never REALLY wanted it. Many of us 08 owners waited much longer than you did. As for selling it for more than list............the laws of supply and demand may fall in your favor. To bad your order took the bike away from someone else that really wanted one and now it appears your trying to profit from their misfortune. Feel free to disagree, but I think many Vision riders would agree with me.

Just remember; regardless of If you trailer her 0 Miles or rider her 100K miles. Once you title her, she's used. Unless you're dropping cash on her at the floor (so you don't have to lein the title) AND you don't get her tagged, you're gonna to have to sell a bike that's used. I dunno about your state but OK/KS/VA DOT wouldn't touch a bike under an MSO until it's been inspected and titled. You MIGHT be able to get her insured without a title. I dunno the specifics because I'm certainly not a subject expert in this area. Alot of people get hung up on milage but the odometer means nothing except in the used market. Just try to find a "demo" on the market. That also works against us in the aspect that the dealer can joy rider her until she's sold but she's still considered new. The only time they seem to budge is when their are WAY too many miles and they get anxious. I for one took a bike that had about 600mi. on the odometer but couldn't get them to budge on the price point. (The dealership owner commuted to work on Jane alot and I don't blame him at all). Because I usually do research on the market and have fair expectations when I walk onto the floor, I'm usually ready to walk out the door the second a salesperson tells me that can't work with me. Usually it's management tying their hands or its poor timing on my part when I walk in, so I'm curteous in leaving. I did get free labor and a discount on the level 2 pipes but that was about it. I'd love to justify another Vision in my shop, especially the 10th anni. I'd take her home and name her "Annie". :-P

I'm pretty sure that all 100 were built a long time ago. All were either assigned or sold very early......7 minutes. The reason I'm pretty sure and a lot of other folks here may also agree, when at the AVR in the middle of August, #83 was sitting on display. So why would we think that the last 17 are not already built? Could it be your late delivery is that your really not getting one? Good luck in your venture to get one!

I've been one of the 100 selected since we submitted the app. I've got my confirmation letter in hand, and my dealer says it's finally on the way after three delays. That's why I say they're still building them. Hell, maybe I'm getting # 100. Or maybe I'm getting # 83 now that they're finished with it.

I really don't expect to get any more than list. With plenty of '08's still sitting in dealerships, and easy access to any '09 you want, they're not the hottest item in motorcycledom.

Resale on Visions stink.

Number 11 is for sale at MSRP at the Victory Warehouse in Birmingham, AL. Number 100 and number 1 have both been delivered to customers already. All 100 bikes were manufactured a few months ago.

Smitty - 2008-10-14 6:09 PM  The bike is on it's way and I was wondering if anyone here would be interested...price yet to be determined, but certainly more than list. While I haven't totally decided not to take it, I'm leaning that way, mainly because of the slowness of Polaris/Victory in getting it here and forcing me to take a hit on it.

These two sentences contradict each other. You want to sell it for more than list...but yet you are thinking you are going to "take a hit on it"???

Basically you want to hit before being hit.

I kinda doubt the theory of getting more than MSRP applies to the Anniv Vision like it does to Vipers or Z6 vettes and such. The reason I think this way is primarily supply & demand. A Viper that lists for $90,000 can bring $100,000 because there are a lot of people out there who are willing to pay more for the "hot new item" such as a Viper. However I don't think there are many people who will pay more than list for the "hot new Vision". I think the "target market" of people who are willing to pay more than MSRP for the 10th Anniv Vision is fairly small....like maybe one or possibly two people...if you are lucky.

To be honest it doesn't suprise me that there a few dealers who have the 10th Anniv Vision sitting on the showroom floor. Due to the ordering process you would think that they would all be spoken for by customers. However I think there are a few buyers who signed up and ordered the 10th without doing other steps such as securing financing and/or getting the spouses aproval. And I think that unfortunately a few of the lucky hundred people ordered it without really wanting it. They simply wanted the short term glory of saying they "got one" without thinking or worrying about the next step, and also not thinking about the "next guy" who did actually want the bike and did actually have all of the needed "approvals" lined up and did actually attempt to order the bike but got "beat out" by the "greedy" people.

And Smitty...please don't think my previous paragraph is directed at you. It isn't. Its not directed at anyone, its just a general opinion type thing. Hope you understand. I do understand your frustration of having to wait so long for the bike and then once you get it you are going to have to store it till next season. That really does suck. If it was me I'd be in the same "pissed off" boat that you are.

I just picked my Ness Vision from Mies Outland here in Minnesota. The owner there purchased a 10th anniversary which is his but, for sale, it is #21. I love mine! Could not be happier. If you live in Minnesota or near check that bike out along with my Vegas at the Donnie Smith Invitaional here in St. Paul. (March 2009)

Also, don't forget that the economy has really tanked in the last few months. I'm sure there are several people who ordered it and then afterward found themselves either jobless or in a financial situation that no longer allowed for a $30K motorcycle.

Like I said in another post. If you need the money, sell it. If not, get on, turn the key, hit the start button and ride the sh*t out of it. Either way, you wont be sorry.

It makes me sad to hear this. I love my 08 Vision Tour Premium, but in a way had to "settle" for it because the Anniversary bikes were spoken for. I ended up building the bike I wanted, but would have happily paid for the anniversary.
