Sand Rock, AL United States | Well, it is with great sadness that I announce the demise of the Vision aka Dreamweaver, aka Tatanka, aka The Visionquest aka Bird of Prey. Friday evening in Fort Payne approximately 17:45 hours, an issue developed with the Vision as I was going through the gears, she stopped pulling suddenly. I thought maybe I broke a belt. I pulled off the road ( I was only a half mile away from work) and fiddled with the shifter eventually coaxing her into limping back to my workplace parking lot. The next day, for the first time in 15 years, I drove a cage ( my wife?s Ford Expedition) to work and almost fell asleep on the way, Boring! I don?t know how working America can drive cars every day, it?s like watching paint dry! Anyway, my friend and local tech, Jeff McElroy of Jeff?s Cycles met me there
So it has been diagnosed with a failed (and fell apart internally) countershaft bearing. Major surgery!
I am continuing to cover our next move in prayer but I will share with you my friends, that I feel it may be time to take the next step and replace the Vision ( I will not be parting with the Vision , just probably put her away until I can repair). I am weighing my options at this time. There is a real possibility that I will get another Vision but there is one other bike I am considering. It?s a major decision.
In the interim , my close friend and brother in Christ , Scott Norris has loaned me his Honda Valkyrie Interstate to ride to work and went as far as to say ?keep it as long as you need it?. Now that?s a friend. I know there are others who would do the same. It's a very charitable thing to do and I really appreciate it.

Pittsburgh, PA | Very sorry to hear that.. im not sure how much surgery that will be to get the vision back up and running.. i was just wondering if it could be cheaper to go this route?

Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort) | Be careful buying a used engine, if the doner bike was in a wreck there's often damage that's not immediately detected like cracks around the motor/swingarm mounts & fins-get lots of close up photos and personally inspect if possible. This would be a great way to get a performance built engine and upgrade your existing ride. |

Sand Rock, AL United States | well mine already has 133,700 miles on it. The ebay motors I'm looking at say "guaranteed". If I go with the ebay motor, I will pick up in person. It is in Odessa, FL

| if someone did the diamond cut I'm guessing it might have cams so you might need a PCV.
would be worth it to pull a rocker box and look at the end of the cams and see what number is on them.
not knowing what year motor you bought I would call the Vic Shop and ask them if all the electrical will hook up or if the ECM will work with motor.

Beer Collins, Colorado (there is no fort) | 2010 Ness Vision & Jackpot models came with diamond cut heads from the factory with the same specs as the regular models just more bling. I'm guessing it came out of an Ness bike that possibly had a 09 engine mounted in a '10 frame?. Not sure how to date an engine by itself but I'm sure there's some overlap as all the engines are basically the same. Any info on the donor bike-model, mileage? It's going to look great. |

Sand Rock, AL United States | I don't know anything about the bike. They claim the engine "ran well" and was extracted from it's host frame with 57K on it. It has a 14 day money back guarantee (standard with most of these salvage places). There were other engines with lower miles and higher price tags but I know the powerplant is tried and true and I wanted the diamond cut feature. |

| the number on the end of the cams would be. you have to rotate the motor over to get a look on them.
