| Funny thing, in the last month I have been pulled over for speeding twice and was let go both times. This weekend the cop told me he was more interested in seeing my bike than giving me a ticket. He was really impressed with my Vision, but thought it was really something that a 60 year old guy also rode a Hayabusa. Anyone else been let go without tickets. |

Posts: 137 Houston, Texas | I was stopped by a Tx DPS Trooper last week north of Hempstead, Tx........initially told me that I was speeding, then played twenty questions about the STARSHIP. Finally admitted he just wanted a 'close-up' look at a Vision.
After our 'chat' he pulled his unit onto the roadway, stopped all traffic and got me safely on my way.

Posts: 266 Stockton, Ca. | California Highway Patrol pulled me over as I was just finishing a "Run her up" to see how fast I could get it up to. I made it to 105 then let off. The CHP said he had me at 85 then he asked who I knew. I have a License Plate Frame with a CHP call sign on it that I received from my CHP nephew. He was very interested in the bike after all and after showing him the bike I received a warning and went on my way. I'll admit it was more than just the Vision that got me off but what the heck! No ticket! If he caught me at 105 I don't think I would have been that lucky. |

Posts: 725 Reno County, KS | I was pulled over by the Firemarshall in Springfield, IL in front of Abe Lincoln's Library. They wanted to see the bike. Nice people BTW. Being firefighters, I would have assumed they'd be uninterested in anything but a Harley. The guy driving said he'd seen the Vision on TV but never seen one up close. The closest I came to getting a ticket was by a cop in Los Angeles who didn't like my blue LED lighting. He caught me at the gas pumps but let me go with a verbal warning because I had out of state tags. I didn't bother turning them off. Here is another thing I've noticed about cops in general. |

Posts: 600 Linwood, MI | I had a local cop pull me over in a far-off town. He had been following me for several blocks, making me very nervous by staying right on my butt through the traffic. When he finally hit the lights I was freakin' out because I just got the bike and I knew the wife would have my nuts if I had to pay for a ticket before I even made a bike payment. I was fumbling for my wallet and trying to think of what I could have possibly done to get pulled over when the cop walked up and said, "What the hell is that thing??" Luckily for me I hadn't done anything, he just wanted to see check out the bike.
More recently I was riding home by a rather circuitous route after work one night. I was on a nice, long, lonely stretch of road and opened it up to hear the pipes and get the ol' blood pumping. Of course, just after I hit 5th I see oncoming headlights round a curve and realize it's a State Trooper as I blow past him. A glance at my speedo told me I could have some trouble (80 mph) and a look in the mirror to see the trooper turning around confirmed it. Knowing he had me dead to rights I just pulled over, got out my paperwork and waited for him to come over. "You know how fast you were going?" I told him about 80. He asked me why I was in such a hurry so I gave him the old story about how my wife ran off with a trooper and I thought he was bringing her back. He just stared at me so the smile died and my shoulders slumped a bit. Guess he heard that one already. "No real reason. I thought I was all alone and couldn't resist let her run a bit."
When he came back from his car with my ID he simply asked me what kind of bike it was and how I liked it. He handed me my driver's license and registration and said, "Well, I'm going to let you go with a warning. You could have just gunned it and I never would have caught up to you, so I appreciate your honesty. Keep the speed legal and ride safe." Whew! |

Posts: 261 Sugar Land, TX (Outside of Houston) | I have not had a ticket in 29 years. I did not say I had not been pulled over in 29 years. Side benefit of working for Law Enforcement for 29 years maybe?.
But I know in my street days, I would have been pulling over a Vision "Just to Look". I did that once on a DeLorean. Just had to see how those Gull Wing Doors worked. |
