I am in the process of removing my stock exhaust to replace with ness big honkers once they come in. However I am stuck at this point, please see photo...

Do I twist the muffler somehow or is there another way to clear these bolts?

Need to use a strap wrench on the muffler to rotate the bolts thru the hole. I've done this three times now, witchdoctor used to sell a wrench just for the purpose of turning the mufflers but I haven't seen it on his web sight for some time.

So use a strap wrench to rotate the whole pipe to slide the bolts thru, correct?

Thanks for the help!

What do you use to clear the bolts? Just twist out the muffler?

yes, twist, I do a little shake, and have used a large screwdriver through the rear mount to twist. I've learned to grease up the end when putting it back on. This will keep it from seizing and easier to pull the next time. You'll get some smoke and smell on start up the first time, but no problem.

lot of WD-40 between header pipe and muffler. Do the same when you put mufflers on
