Woodland Hills, CA | I keep reading differing things relative to the dimensions of the Cee Baileys windshield vs. the Vision windshield. I have reported in other posts that the Cee Baileys I have is 5" wider than my stock Vision tall windshield. I have also read that Cee Baileys has said that their windshield is the same width as the stock Vision windshield. Well, today I overlayed my stock Vision tall windshield over my "stock" 22 inch Cee Baileys and have the results. It seems that both statements are true! But how can that be?
Well, as it turns out, both windshields measured at their widest points are essentially the same. But both windshields are shaped very differently. The Vision windshield is widest at its base, then tapers substantially from its base to the top of the windshield, while the Cee Baileys is more rounded and does not taper from the base, and is thus wider throughout its total height. The overall effect, at least for me, is that the Cee Baileys offers better overall wind protection than the Vision.
I have attached 3 photos illustrating the differences in the shape, width and height. I hope they are clear enough to see what is going on. The Vision windshield is layed over the top of the Cee Baileys installed in the bike. You can see how the Vision windshield tapers straight from its base to the top, while the Cee Baileys is more rounded and wider overall.
I hope this helps clear up the matter of the additional width I have been reporting for the Cee Baileys. Sorry if there was any confusion.

Northeastern Penna. | Wizard523, Thanks for the pics you posted on the CeeBaileys & Vision windshields. I too, spoke to a rep. from CeeBaileys today.He stated their windshield is the same width,but mentioned the
difference in curvature. |

Woodland Hills, CA | Hey Tim. Yes, I do notice quite a difference in both the up and down positions, but then I don't wear a face shield, so it may seem more to me. Kathleen said she noticed a small difference when it is down, but really noticed it when it was up, and she does wear a face shield.
If you want, you can take it for a spin next time I see you and check it our for yourself. |

| When you get it on can you show us a photo of bike with old and new up and down so we can see difference in looks also how is the clarity?

install was difficult because the holes didnt line up on the CB shield to the mounts on the stock Visn. did you find this to be true??

Woodland Hills, CA | Installation was really very easy. The holes on my windshield were not aligned perfectly, but they weren't that far off, and it ultimately did not present a problem with the install. Just make sure that you take the rubber spacers off of your old windshield and use them to install the Cee Baileys (or buy new spacers). I did not do this the first time, and had to remove and reinstall the windshield, but even with that, the entire install only took about 20 minutes.
After installing the Cee Baileys, my only concern at all was whether or not the increased surface area of the windshield in the full up position would result in too much additional stress on the attach points, possibly causing cracking of the plex, or other damage to the brackets. I have been keeping an eye on this and so far there are no signs of any stress or cracking, and I have ridden with the windshield full up for some distance at between 75 and 80 mph. Of course, only time will tell, but so far the Cee Baileys is performing great and, at least for me, its a big improvement over the stock windshield in both optics and wind protection. About the only negative I have found so far is a slight reduction in mileage with it full up. But for me, this is not a problem and I am extremely happy with the Cee Baileys.

during the summer, it would buffer too much air. The only thing I noticed with the 22" shield is that it vibrates at highway speed where the stock and shortie dont. Makes perfect sense because of the size buffeting the wind. At first I kept going home and thinking my bolts
were loose, but its just the shield, and honestly the vibration isnt a noise, its just one of those things you would notice driving looking forward. The shortie shield is awesome, but I had to change back to the stock because its not yet warm enough. Would I buy it again ABSOLUTELY. I wish they made the blackout on the bottom like the stock shield, so you dont see the frame, but I put
one of my Vision Pilot stickers down front center to dress it up. Looks great. |

| My only problem with the stock windshield is the horrible distortion I get looking through it. Very annoying.

I know most won't go there, but just a reminder for those that might. The Vision is capable of 120 mph, and I'm pretty sure Victory tested their wind shields at that speed. If you would ever venture in to that area of space and time, with an aftermarket shield that is acutally larger, the extra sq. in. area may stress it to break. Does Cee Bailey say it will take a 120 mph speed run.

As far as distortion goes the CEE BAILEY doesn't have the distortion like the Vic windshield does.I love mine. I have a 20" light gray tinted one.
The tint is great. With this windshield I can actually stand to ride with the shield up.I won't be using mt stock shield again anytime soon.

thought the stock Vision shield is good. The only reason I went with CeeBaileys was because of the good write-up here.
