Last year a lot of Vision - Riders did large trips on their Visions. In 2008 I put on 5000 miles in ~ two weeks going to the AVR and then visiting family and friends across the mid-west on out to Pittsburg and back to Houston. Ending with a ride with Songfan on Hwy 7, top to bottom in Arkansas. Let's hear what you have planned for 2009. In 2009, I've talked a couple of my riding buddies to ride to Strugis with me. We are taking off early and going up through Colorado and Wyoming, with a stop at Yellowstone. Should be a great time, what's your trip!

Our bike is currently parked in Phoenix waiting for us to get back to it in February. We want to work our way over to Florida and then come north to Toronto end of April, early May. Working for an airline has its perx. We ride for a few days, park it, come home, work and head back to it when we have a few more days to go play. As we go state to state, we hope to meet as many of you as possible. Hooked up with Chandler Tom and we're hoping to meet azrob next trip and we will email a few days ahead of time as we pass thru your neighborhood.

My Harley buddy, 08 Road King and myself, 08 gray tour comfort, are planning rides to the Laughlin rally in April, Deadwood in July or August, and Ruidoso in September. His wife is going to Italy the first of June, so we may slip off for a few days some where while she's gone. Possibly SoCal.

Shucks, I thought reading on here there are no "big" trips when riding a Vision.

Doing the infamous four corners, plus the ride out and back to Indiana.

My hope would be to go to the dragon from Maine. I logged 9800 miles on the Vision last season almost three times the amount from my previous bike. Though my longest single day last summer was 400 miles the dragon would still be a huge ride for me.

Put 5400 mi. on my 08 Vision Tour Prem. from June -Oct. Rode out of Northern Ontario Canada with two of my HD. buddies to Sturgis SD. 1350mi each way and lots of riding in the Black Hills. The Vision always got the attention at stops. Got pulled over for 70 in a 50 zone by a SD Trooper. Went through all the DUI testing and when I was deemed not under the influance, all the trooper wanted to talk about was "What kind of bike is that George Jetson looking machine?" Got off with a warning to slow that swoopie looking thing down!! I was the only one that didn't have a sore butt when we got to our rooms in Sundance Wy. We are planning a ride this summer to Springfield Ill for the flat track races over Labor Day. In the mean time, I am in St. Augustine Fl. for the winter still riding. See you in Daytona for the Victory Party.

Anyone hear about the schedule for the 2009 AVR? The AVR would be on my list of rides I'd like to start planning on and if anyone has any tips or experience on making arrangements I'd like to hear about them.

Heading west on whatever scenic route I stumble upon to Rushmore and Yellowstone then time providing to Washington to visit with friends. From there I'm not really sure but plan to be outside Dallas visiting another friend followed by whatever scenic route I find myself on heading to Kentucky for a meeting with a group of friends (3 days of riding together there), down through Tn to ride the dragon (again) and then back up the BRP to Gettysburg before heading home. From there it is a number of 3 and 4 day rides to Canada, NY, etc...
I'm not a big organized rally sorta rider and with riding friends from across the US I prefer to just head "that way."

Due to our work schedules my wife and I are planning more frequent rides as opposed to longer. I took a look at Newfie's (my wife's a Newfie) pictures of his trip to BC and realized that we live here on Vancouver island and have not seen a lot of what he did.

We will probably make one longer trip, possibly to Sturgis, most definately to Winthrop WA. We just heard about the ride through the Cascades to Winthrop and can't wait to make the trip. Is anyone familiar with an event that apparently is held there evey year right before Sturgis?

The only trip i have planned as of right now is. Riding 1000 miles from (just south of Pittsburgh PA) to the middle of Kansas. Its not going to be a fun ride. I-70 the entire way, and as fast as possible! Im going to try and do the 1000 in one day. Key word is try..

I am trying to talk three of my friends into doing the run for the Wall in DC this Memorial day I did it 4 years ago from the west coast lived in CA then. Having been a Vietnam Vet there is nothing like the day in DC when the Marine Guard welcomes you home with a salute coming on to the Washington Mal. Archie

Visited Skagway Alaska by ship on our honeymoon last May - sidetrip to Yukon by bus, and back to Skagway by train. The roads impressed me, and our bus driver mentioned that he had driven up from lower 48 by bike in late April to start tourist work. SO - we are planning a summer ride from Vancouver BC to Skagway and back. I did a small trip to Hyder Alaska back in '92 and that was an easy 6-7 day trip. This new one will be more like 15-18 days. Copilot thinks camping is a "weekend at the Waldorf" - so this will be all motels/cabins/B&B's. Will take a bit of planning. But like all my trips - the ride is the destination - so we will go where 'the Fates allow'.

We are contemplating riding from Seattle WA to Pensacola FL to visit our daughter sometime this spring.

Right not we are trying to decide if we want to take one BIG trip, or break the vacation time up into some week-long adventures.

V-Tex,

Tejas hill country is a definite possibility in April.  I have a lot of family around there and might even make a speed run out to Big Bend.  (It would be nice to set the cruise in triple digits and kick back.)  Would have to load up the i-Pod with lots of Jerry Jeff Walker, ZZ Top and Kenny Wayne Sheperd.  Will advise as the time gets closer.

If you or anyone makes a run in the Texas Hill country (Fredricksburg, Kerrville, Lukenbach or Bandera) Please let me know. I never get tired of seeing that area and would enjoy riding with other Visions.

Radioteacher, VisionTex and the rest of you Lone Star riders,

I've made a command decision and am committing to a Texas trip in April.  I'm off from 4/22-4/30.  I should be in Hill Country on the 23rd/24th (Thurs/Fri) and then on to Big Bend for the weekend.  After Big Bend, over to Albuquerque and then back to Memphis via I-40.

I'd like to meet as many of you guys as possible.

Hmm, things are a changing, work is getting real slow and I just might have to take a week or two off around the end of February or early March, so................ I've been told that if I was ever to goto Bike Week in Daytona that I you can't get any reasonably priced lodging for about an hour around the city of Daytona, with that in mind does anyone have an idea of where to stay within an hour or two of Daytona?
