VA | Hey, got an email back from K&N and they said that they don't have a cross reference for the Vision. However, he directed me to request the filter, and if they had enough requests, they may consider making one. So, if you want one, or even if you don't, but you'd like to help those of us that do want one, please go to the link below and fill it out.

Pittsburgh, PA | from what i seen they already have a oil filter for out vision... its the air filter they dont have.. the Oil filter is KN-198

, IA | they do make one and they make one for the 08 vegas but they do not sell driect i already when through this with them wanted to put a resueabel on my vegas told me to go to vic. |

VA | Sonic, what do you mean by they make one? K&N makes on, or Victory makes one? I saw one that my Victory dealer had, but it's not a K7N. Looks very similar, but the dealer and I looked at it and agreed that this one did not appear to be as good a quality. I believe it said it was made in China. Probably works the same, but for the price, I'd rather know I was getting a better quality product.
I appreciate everyone who already requested one. I like the K&N air filters, got them in my truck and my other bike, and I think they are great. Like the idea of buying one once, and keeping it for life too.

Ruskin, Fl | I took my "K&N" filter out because it is completely rusted, on both sides. I tried cleaning it and the element did not become white. I have 80K on the K&N filter in my car and I have cleaned it several times. I know what it should look like after cleaning and mine bike filter does not look like that. Than again the filter in the car does not get wet and I believe the filter on the Vision gets pounded with water pretty good in heavy rain, which in the summer in Florida I rode in quite a bit.
I just looked at the filter. It does NOT say K&N anywhere on it. The only number is 7081395. If you try to look it up on www.knfilters.com there is no match.

VA | cw, I saw that filter, at least i think I did, at my dealer. He and I agreed that it did not look like it was made by K&N. The first thing was that the glue they used to put the trim ring around it was compressed, like they put on too much and didn't clean off the excess. I've only had 3 K&N filters, but none of them looked like that. But, the material did not appear to be quite the same. Also, on the package, if I rememer correctly, it said made in China. I don't think K&N has their filters made in China. Could be wrong, but I don't think so. I'm sure Victory wanted a "high performance" filter and contracted out someone else to make it. That's why I started this thread. I figure that if K&N gets enough requests that they will make one and I won't have to spend money on something that I don't know if it will be as good. I was ready to buy Victory's filter, figuring it was just as good, or maybe made by K&N exclusively for Victory. Don't think it is though. |
