Wanna sneak peak?
Check out the special Our Lips Are Sealed edition of the Victory Blog for a sneak peak of what's being unveiled on Friday, January 16, at 2:30 p.m. (EST) at the New York City Int'l. Motorcycle Show.

did you see the hints about no frills, basically no extras. i wonder if it could be something really stripped down.

Victory doesn't yet have an "entry level" bike, so I'm thinking the new model will be lighter weight, have a shorter wheel base, lower seat height, smaller engine, maybe along the lines of an "883" Sportster. Victory has a cruiser (kingpin), muscle bike (hammer) and tourer (vision), but they don't have an entry level machine that would appeal to the increasing female market, entry level and first time buyers. Stay tuned ....we will see tomorrow.

They have the Vegas Low in the same category as a Sportster for vertically challenged riders. Of course the ride and smooth power band, and handeling of the Vegas blows the Sportster away.

If were talking entry level will it be an Automatic?

I just received an email from the International Motorcycle Shows that stated the following.

Victory's World Debut of a Prototype Concept Bike

This all new concept motorcycle is developed by the designers and styling team behind the Vision Touring Motorcycle, but brings a very different concept to form.

Using new technology and incorporating design elements to create a motorcycle only a manufacturer could produce — this bike is beyond the wildest dreams of any custom builder.

This would be at the New York Show. Is anyone going to go to the show? If so take a camera!!!! Has anyone heard of this????? What's Up?

Location:
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center

Friday, January 16

What is your guess as to what type of motorcycle the prototype is? Here is my lean on it. After some conversations with Victory folks, I think we are going to see a sportbike from Victory.

i hear it will have retractable wings, an espresso maker, automatic butt wiper and an ipod charger.. will only come in chartreuse
with Ness flames you can however upgrade to the retractable cup holders, nut warmer, removeable porta potti and pez dispenser
but that model wont be available till july 2011 and will only come in battleship gray.

I would guess maybe a variation of the Vision maybe? Possibly using the same basic frame and stuff. Maybe a more "basic" version of the bike. A new TC? Doubt it, but I'm hoping...

They did mention an 8-Ball Version of the Vision awhile back. Speculation. I would seriously doubt that they'd have a super new ground breaking machine underwraps this long. That is of course unless it's still not going to be available for another year or two until after it's introduction today.

Did anyone else take the victory survey a few months ago? I vaguley remember (the post about an 8 ball version of the Vision made me think of it. But in that survey, they had several pictures of bikes, mainly the vision in different colors. But, I think they had some pictures of different looking bikes. It'd be cool to think that we may have had some say in what the new bike looks like.

I can't believe it will be an 8 ball version, that's not really a concept, more along the lines of a new model. Victory's "concept" bikes can be pretty far out there!

I received an email from Victory today with the unveiling announcement. They also hint to the shape of things on the link. Pretty vague but let the imagination take over and I see something of a drag styling bike. Sort of a V-Max flavor combined with a Vision Street.

The outline looks like the concept bike. Definitely drag style. It looks like the concept bike they introduced in 2005. It'll be neat looking, but not trading the Vision for it.

Hello. What? Can we help you?

What’s that? You were directed here by an e-mail from the Victory Marketing Team?

Oh, isn’t that just like them, cooking up a big surprise and then directing you here for us to keep it a secret. There’s the temptation to reveal it, right here and now – spoiling the fun of their big unveiling on Friday, January 16, at 2:30 p.m. (EST) at the New York City Int’l. Motorcycle Show.

Yes, if we weren’t so exhausted from typing that last sentence (it was a long one!), we’d ruin their surprise.

It’s going to be revealed at 2:30 p.m. (EST) ay the
The Javits Center in NYC and at the same online at the Victory Home Page.

We won’t ruin their surprise. That’s not our style. We’re not haters. We’re all in this together, so if the Victory Marketing Gang wants to wait until Friday to pull the wraps off one of the coolest, freshest, rawest surprises of the year in motorcycling, we won’t ruin their surprise.

But take note: We have seen what they’re going to reveal on Friday, and it is cool.

Very cool.

No frills, no extras, no waste. As we said, cool, fresh, raw (sounds like carrots!) – it’s the bare essence and nothing more.

Will you dig its looks? That’s subjective, of course, but The Blog Crew thinks you will.

Why? Because you love to ride, and once they take the wraps off, you’ll take one look and think, “Oh, yeah, I wanna go riding. Right now. Long and hard. With a tough-guy ‘Then Came Bronson’ attitude. Oh, yeah, I really want to ride, man.”

So even if you’re sitting at home or work in front of a computer on Friday, put on a Victory leather jacket, maybe your leather vest, that Sturgis T-Shirt and that Victory Daytona Bike Week pin.

Do-rag? Victory bandana? Sure, why not, put it on, right there at work!

Get in the mood to ride, log on and check it out.

You’ll dig it.

Victory Motorcycles will reveal the CORE concept motorcycle. Created by the Victory Motorcycles design staff, CORE is a reduction of the motorcycle to its most pure form using some of the latest production technology. Join the staff of Victory Motorcycles in the Victory display as they host the first public reveal and discuss the CORE concept motorcycle on Friday at 2:30pm. Here's just a glimpse of what you'll see at the show:

Just wondering.....

When threads are combined is it possible for you to "insert" a post in between the two? Meaning can you make an "announcement" type post saying that you have combined the threads? Like in between greaybeard's post at 1:33 and radioteacher's post at 2:09?

As mentioned...I'm just wondering

WOW!!! Now THAT's what creating a concept is all about. Get the minds thinking based on a "Core" design !!!

I can see sportbike, sport touring, bobber, naked, lots of directions. While I'm guessing this is not an operational bike, I wonder if the rear is really rigid, or if it's going toward a flexible frame type design.

In any case... I like it.

I think I see why they call it the CORE. The engine is the CORE of the design.

That is sweet! And Miles, I agree. . .I can see all kinds of possibilities for the CORE.

I was hoping for a dual sport, or sport touring. Looks like it's still a possibility.

Did they release any specs?

I used the term "prototype" in my previous post (which I edited). It really looks more like exactly what they have been calling it....a "Concept." Something to get the grey-matter thinking. Remember those early Vision 800 photos, and then those "Drawings" that went out before the Vision was released. If the Vision 800 was a concept that resulted in the Vision we see today... I can't even imagine what we're going to see in probably 2010 or 2011 from Victory.

There is a guy with the screen name SMYTE from the VMC who has already made his 04 KP Look darn close to this new Victory concept. I really like SMYTE's ride too. Very different. So do you think Vic may seen his ride? Who knows? but it's wild were bikes are going from just 5 to 8 years ago. Take our Visions for example.
