Posts: 172 Prescott, Az | I'm not a new rider but I am new to Victory. Tomorrow I pick up my new 2008 Vision Tour.
I was in the market for a Yamaha Voyager to replace my Honda 1300 VTX, which I outgrew. I've been riding for 30 years and have had many bikes, including three Goldwings. Today I test drove the Vision and was extremely impressed.
I feel like a kid again, only greyer and fatter, and much uglier.
I look forward to reading your posts and sharing Vision experiences.

Posts: 172 Prescott, Az | I do have a throttle boss at home but I call her that for a different reason. She's 5'3" compared tp my 6'1" and she throttled me good after I told her I bought a new bike. I talked faster than any salesman, then I begged and she settled down. I may even get her to ride with me on this bike. I think the heated seats will make her smile. |

Posts: 460 Centennial, CO | Hey Necktie,
Enjoy the new ride and welcome to the club! You will NOT be unhappy in the least!
Keep in mind a couple of things:
1. The bike will be the best bike you have EVER ridden!
2. The more you ride it the quieter it will get. Give it the first 1k miles until it smooths out and quiets down. A lot of people ask about this and I thought I would quelch the noise before you get out of the gate. As it gets quieter you will love the bike more and more!
Enjoy and have fun! If you are evern in Denver, look me up or drop me a PM.
Take care!
Jimmy

I have always felt it is easier to beg for forgivness then it is to beg for permission.
It's always worked for me. Hope you love the Vision as much as i do mine.

I absolutely love my Vision, but I have to admit that initial overwhelming excitement I had when I first bought it has worn off a bit. I still love it, I'm just not walking around like a school girl with her first love any more . It always brings a big ol' smile to my face when I see new owners come here bubbling over with enthusiasm.
Welcome, Necktie! I hope you continue to enjoy your ride as much as the rest of us here do. |

You are going to love your new ride. My wife was the same way when I forst wanted to purchase my Vision. Now my wife says that we would sell the house and live in a box, before we would get rid of the Vision. Give it time, your wife will come over too. Good luck bro. |

I like so many others only needed to test ride one and got hooked and never looked back. Victory has taken very good care of me so far from the factory to the dealer so no complaints at all. Enjoy and have fun. |

| I have made several posts and asked a LOT of questions here.......BUT I don't believe I have ever introduced myself as a NEW 2008 Vision Premium Tour Rider! I am NOT a new rider either NOR am I new to Victory but I am a new Vision owner. I have been riding for about 20 years now and I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas Metroplex Area. I have owned Harley's, Honda's, Yamaha's, and my most recent was a 2003 Victory Touring Cruiser. I was absolutey blown away with the '03 TC model and it served me extremely well for years. I sold her to a fellow rider in Oregon just before Christmas. I knew 2 years ago the my ultimate goal was the Vision Premium Tour and I had created my "Vision" Fund to accomplish this objective. I FINALLY signed the papers last week and my Vision ships out next Tuesday from an out-of-state dealer. I can't tell you how excited I am to finally be a "Vision Owner" and I hope to see yall on the highways & biways going forward. If yall are ever in the DFW, TX area.......PLEASE LOOK ME UP!! It would be an honor to meet ya & ride with ya!

That "bubbling" you attributed to me was just gas as it turns out. That's the only kind of bubbling I do at my advanced age. I do love the bike and can't wait to add goodies. I picked it up yesterday and I was with a riding buddy, the salesman, the lady finance person and the lead mechanic who was wiping her down...the bike, not the finance lady. Anyway, I got all leathered up sat on her... the bike, not the finance lady, and turned the key. The battery was dead. The air got sucked out of festivies while I stood around watching them put in a new battery.
Today I hooked my heated gloves that I may not need anymore, and my Ipod. I did have to pay $50 for an Ipod connection that looks like a $10 item. |

Posts: 742 North Orange County CA | You're right, the ipod connector is ridiculously priced.
On a machine of this nature, Victory should give you the choice of the audio connector that you want.
On the other hand, having access to hours of music of your choice, without having to listen to the mindless babbling of idiot Disk Jockeys or seemingly endless commercials, combined with the advantage of not having to carry a collection of CDs makes $50 a relatively small price to pay.
Enjoy your new ride.
BTW - My wife loves the Vision passenger appointments, as a result I have no need for the GPS option or the speedometer.

Posts: 1158 Richmond, Virginia | IM BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!! After 8 days at sea of which the first three were spent in the ships hospital suffering from some abdominal bacterial infection to which a 1500.00 cure was applied.......... so much for souveneers.... The cruise after that was awesome. The biggest shock came when apparently Victory found out that I was sick onboard, and shipped via helicopter a gift package. I immediately
began to feel better. As I opened the box the first Victory gift was a replacement colon as I had just pretty much depleted the OEM model that had been with me for 42 years. and before you all ask.... YES it was Chrome. The second Victory gift was a month supply of boxer briefs. They must have heard from the airlines that I had to jettison.......... well nevermind.... the Vic logo on the waist band was a nice touch. It didnt light up like my Vision logo, but none the less comfortable indeed. Since I was forbidden to drink alcohol for the remainder of the cruise, Victory set me up with an open bar tab for any coke, redbull, mountaindew, and alcohol free beer i wanted....
along with a case of 50 weight synthetic AmsOil for when I got home and needed to re lube the system........ The remainder of the gift package was filled with decoder rings, cleaning cloths, coupons for free fuel for life, and a new book entitled CHROME, and how to abuse it, followed by volume two CHROME FOR DUMMIES. God I love Victory and the gifts they consinuously send me for my
patronage of their bikes... THERE !!!! HAPPY NOW ????? ha ha ha ha ha |

Posts: 172 Prescott, Az | Now that I've had a chance to ride the Vision on a day trip with the Ipod blaring, I'll stop whining about the price of the connector. The dealer did show me the cheaper adapter but feeding the Ipod thru the radio controls was appealing. Today I bought the rubber pads that go infront of the running boards and a 12v connector for the glove box. I have a small air compressor that will need the hookup.
I know this is nothing new to all of you but after years of riding the interstates I almost cried when I passed the big rigs at 80mph and didn't feel like I was going to get sucked into their wheels. This bike is as smooth at 80 as it is at 30.
Tomorrow I'm going to a local tint shop that has a guy who installs a clear protective film. I figure I will need it for the tank cover nearest my..unmentionables and the side of the tank. Does the fairing chip easily? I live in the place where all of the worlds rocks were invented and I'd hate to see paint flying off the bike.
I priced out the CB because I thought I'd like to get all of the music and "Breaker-Breaker" talk right into the helmet. It was over $1300. Therefore the speakers will blare as long as I have the Vision.
Thanks for all the replies and support. I'm gonna like it here. |

Posts: 3204 Memphis | The only rock chips I have after over 20,000 miles are on my front fender. There are several. I totally agree about passing 18 wheelers. Big crosswinds (30kts +) will also bring a tear to your eye, compared to what you are used to. Relax your grip and let the bike slice through the wind. The wind will blow hard against your body (the reason for a light grip) but the bike will track straight. You are ruined. There is no going back. |

only dream about. They dont call it a Vision for nothing. Go, ride, enjoy, then come back and share.. It only gets better with age. (the bike).... not much else oh ,, except for some wine. |

I forgot yesterday and almost over-corrected myself off the road on the first one I passed!!
The next 18 wheeler I passed I just let the Vision do the work and we were just fine. The crosswind was about 20 MPH.
