Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Sorry, I find it comical that a thread on Water Heaters are FROZEN. Anyway, more to the motorcycle topic and idiot cagers that have an obvisious distain for riders and don't consider they're fooling with someone's life including their own. I use my turn signals and try to ride civil around here but yesterday going home there was a pickup truck following me and in the inside lane and apparently both of us wanted to get to the outside lane. I turned on my turn signal and started to move over to the middle lane, only to find that he manuevered in such a way that he was in my path in that lane. I cranked on the throttle to get a safe distance and get in front of him because slowing down would have meant another idiot to ride my tale until I moved over, and having traffic behind the idiot would have caused even more problems. Why couldn't he have been a little courteous and just let me over instead of wrestling for the spot? Having me to do all the evassive tactics just to move over just seemed to make him more aggressive and almost made me miss my exit. By the way, the way he acted he seemed that he was wanting to exit also, but ended up going straight instead. I'm hoping that he missed his exit and had to take a detour for being so obtuse.

| LOL... it got a chilling response too...
I must say, that I certainly do not miss the general aspects of riding in the MD, VA, DC area. It's so nice to be in an area where motorcycles seem to get as much respect as anyone/everyone else. It probably has to do with the fact that anyone you run into either rides, has ridden, is interested in riding or has close family that rides. Washington state recently releases a report that reflect most motorcycle related accidents are single vehicle around here,. In other words, just the bike involved, unlike when I lived in MD and it seemed every week there would be at least one.."motorcyclist killed when struck by (insert vehicle) when (insert vehicle) failed to yield to...." Those reports are rarities here. But it rains all the time, and when it's not raining it looks like it's going to rain... so stay away!!! (inside joke).

Posts: 367 Cottage Grove, Mn | Please allow me to share a story because it is funnier than hell and it's about two young crap for brains teenagers. I had just left a local mall and was waiting to merge into traffic when this car with the teen age boys pulled behind me less then a foot off my fender I turned and gave them a look that said don't do that again. I left the parking lot and when I stopped at the traffic light guess what? they did it again and if possible I believed even closer, this time I pointed a finger at them (no not that one) and shook my head at them. Well they mistook that gesture that for do it again because at the very next traffic light they did it again. Now for the funny part; when I turned to look again I noticed that they were blocked from behind so I thought what a good time to talk to them I dropped the kickstand and got off the bike, the driver panicked tossed the car into reverse and floored it. Yup you guessed it He wiped out the front end of a brand new Saturn with only 3700 miles on it. I thought for a minute I was going to wet myself. I felt really bad for the Saturn owner, I was just glad to find out that the teenager had insurance, not that he could afford it after the careless driving ticket he got. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

Posts: 548 Mount Vernon, WA United States | I was just thinking, especially with the colder weather, we need to be EXTRA cautious out there on bikes, ESPECIALLY Vision riders. I've noticed many are discussing how they are riding more, in colder temps because of the comfort of the Vision. It's bad enough the cagers aren't looking for us in the summer, but I'm guessing most really aren't looking for us in January anywhere North of I-70, but now thanks to the Vision, we are there. Be careful out there.
