In all seriousness, it does stink, but we have had issues too. My Vision stalled out on me in the middle of an intersection while executing a left hand turn. I almost layed it down because the rear tire locked up (i had just disengaged the clutch and lifted my feet up - caught me off guard). Fortunately, all it took was a reflash to fix it. |

| It always sux when something like this happens to any manufacturer. Remember, if it wasn't for HD Polaris would be building lawn mowers?
At least HD did a recall. Honda had broken frames on the Goldwings from 2001 to 2004 and nothing came out till 2004.
EVERY manufacturer will run into problems some time or other. It's how they handle it that counts. Maybe it's not handled the way a owner thinks it should be but Sure it sux to put down hard earned money for something then there are problems but any company would go out of business if they had to replace a whole bike for certain problems.
Hopefully this won't hurt HD too bad and they can move on. The article does not say what the percentage of bikes sold are the problem child? |

| Seems like another ambulance chaser trying to make money. I never received a letter from a lawyer whey the rear axle was under recall on my Kingpin, or when the Vision was stalling out going down the road. I fear more people will be getting lawsuit crazy with the economy going bad and more bottom feeding lawyers preying on business who offer services. |

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Smit, you stopped short, the list is only up to 2006, where's the '07, '08, and yet to be announced '09? Recalls, smecalls, so what, as long as they catch them in time and don't cost me more money, that's fine by me. I pity the manufacturer because they are loosing bucks that could have been saved with a little heavier QC process, maybe. But then again, I'm sure a lot of products go out the door with fingers crossed. I don't have much problems with Harley, as much as the riders, and not all mind you, it's those who think they are bad because they ride a harley is one's I have a problem with. Even Sonny Barger said he only rode harley's because of the image required with the HA's but if he had his druthers, he would have rode a ricer, forget which one he said that he wrote about in his book, and I only saw that in an excerpt.

Posts: 600 Linwood, MI | From what I read of the lawsuit, it's not that there were recalls on the bikes, it's that a lot of people still had the same problems after the so-called "fix" was performed. It's just your basic class action lawsuit because someone dropped the ball.
I've always said that problems with a vehicle aren't that big a deal, as long as they are fixed by the dealer/manufacturer without problem. It's when they refuse to recognize the problem or don't get it fixed properly that it's time to call the bottom feeders . |
