Hey everyone, I just brought home my new Vic Ultimate Solo Touring Bag item #2856780
page 13 in the 09 catalog. This thing is awesome. Figured Id share this just for some info for anyone looking at luggage. I have a Vision Street Premium with the curved passenger backrest and luggage rack. This touring bag is designed to sit on the passenger seat in front of the
touring trunk. The curved design also allows it to snuggle right in front of the passenger curved
backrest just as easily. It doesnt tell you that in the catalog so i suspect many people think
you must own the trunk in order to use this. NOT SO Buckeroos !! Two clips to the side passenger handles and the unit is secure for the long haul. Storage is incredible two of us can pack for a weekend. The outer storage compartments are even waterproofed and insulated on the inside to keep things either warm or cold.
To me, this is a lot more useable then buying the trunk then getting the mount, then the mount cover etc etc for those of us who may only need that much space a few times a year.
I also love the fact that I can sit back and it becomes a great backrest for these long trips.
My dealer sells it 20% off catalog price its worth every penny.

I ordered one to come with my Premium tour as well. Do you have any pictures that you could post of the bag and the bag on the bike?

Thanks

It is a very nice bag but even at 20% off retail from the dealer you still paid about $50.00 or so just to get the Victory logo

This is the exact same bag that Saddlemen sells for $139.00 but can be had cheaper on Ebay

http://www.saddlemen.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=239_247_249&products_id=7086

p.s. sorry about the bubble burst

Bought my Saddlemen off of Ebay also. Hint is, anything that is an "Add On" (CLothing, bags, etc...) chances are Polaris / Victory only buys it from someone else and slaps a $50.00 to $100.00 logo on it for resale. So before ordering from Victory - Use that Google Search Engine or better yet ask on this forum and someone probably can tell you where to buy it cheaper.

You can't burst Mac's bubble, its way too thick.... besides, without the Loco, I mean Logo, it ain't a collectors item. If you ask Mac he's probably has Victory boxers....

Found it on Ebay ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Motorcycle-Parts-Accessories__Saddl...

for $125.95. Is there a cover that will make this water proof?

I have to say it does look like it was made for Street Solo mode.  Here's your bag on your bike.

Indeed it looks a lot better than the old bag I drag around with me at times.  And if anyone thinks you paid too much for yours I can offer you my old bag for nuthin'.  No satisfaction guarantees and no returns however.

Currently niether Saddlemen or Victory offer a rain cover for this bag.

The bag is made from waterproof material, a once a season can of scotchguard waterproofing wont hurt it either but the interior is
lined and insulated as well. In case anyone wondered, thats my bike in the above photos.. The backrest pad on the front of the touring bag I added and does not come with the bag.

I've used the bag for the past 5 months and must say it holds more, looks and fits better than any other bag I've tried. With regard to the 'waterproof' material, it's probably more like water 'resistant' - found out the hard way and got caught in a torrential downpour on a poker run to the Florida Keys last September. The bag had a couple of inches of water at the bottom of it! (fortunately I packed all my clothes in big-baggies so they were dry). I am having a 'rain cover' made this week and will be coating the bag with waterproofing spray and the new cover with tent/tarp waterproofing spray.

Va: the backrest idea is brilliant - hits the lower back in just the right spot - what did you use to make it? Since I've taken the trunk off my 10th (and have no passenger backrest), I've got to anchor the bag over the top and down to the passenger grab-rails to make it sturdy. I would love to be able to make a backrest pad like yours to compensate for not being able to lean back while riding with the bag on.

Drew.

You wont like my answer because it was just coincidence that it fit perfectly. I have a bad lower back and use an inversion machine at the house. It came with the removeable backpad which I rarely use. It was in black vinyl. Something made me take it out to the garage and put it in that space. Honestly It looks like it came with the bag. It would be expensive but Cosco carries the inversion machine (which everyone can use to improve their sleep, posture, back and leg issues), then you can have your own back pad.

I'll look into something at least to accomplish what you did - all the best with it.

My dealer gave me the option of returning the Victory badged unit to them and save the money by buying the saddleman bag. Honestly
with the economy and my dealerships friendship and great relationship, I would gladly give them the extra money. I need them to stay in business for MY future, then I need a bag thats cheaper because it doesnt have a logo... I wish all of you guys who had dealerships that you were not thrilled with, could experience Catlin Kustom Cycles its family owned and operated everyone is excited to see me, goes out of their way. Its just one of the best examples of customer service I can express my thanks to in a world where
customer service is sooooooo lacking...............uhhhhhmmm VICTORY.

I too buy as much as I can from my dealer, since I need them and like all the folks there as well. I bought Velcro straps to replace the OEM straps. I just put a big black trash bag over the tour bag and nothing got wet inside. I also bag the stuff in the bag. And there are even smaller bags in the larger bags. Did I say bag enought times? I found a lumbar support pillow at the local auto zone and sliped in in the front. Only thing is that I have to remove my Utopia seat to use the solo tour bag.

As I read posts here and other sites I often wonder how bad many of the dealers are. How many posts state the person is upset because they did not get a discount? How many of those people start off being a jerk? I know two people that if they don't darn near get stuff for free all they do is bad mouth the dealers. The majority of the dealers I have done any business with have been good some are just better than others. There are some bad dealers but you get that in any business. Also how many dealers blame Victory? How many owners bought bikes off Ebay then bitched that the dealers did them wrong? Of a dealer I did business with gave me a great price on a bike but charged me $32 a piece for spark plugs? Is he good or bad?

If you are active or retired military with aafes priviledges, check out the post "Veteran Deals" here on the forum. Another place we can get motorcycle stuff, to include the Saddleman bag for a mere $118.00, a 20% discount, plus shipping.
