Posts: 639 Tri Cities, WA | Hey all, I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I cant find any info on the J&M speakers that folks are useing to replace there stock vision speakers with. Are they water proof or of marine grade. My brother owns a boating business and he said that all outdoor speakers are not made the same and he would be leary of any speaker that is used outside and gets water on them if they are no fully waterproof or of a marine grade type of speaker. Any help would be great. For you J&M speaker owners now any issues yet? i want to upgrade but if J&M doesnt say they are water proof they probably arent and wont last that long. I will then buy speakers from my brother that he uses in boats that are made for outside and water issues. Thanks for any help.

Posts: 374 Tucson, AZ | Well I just got off the phone with J&M, seeing as how i live in Tucson where they're made. The i spoke with said they will take whatever weather you throw at them as well as being able to withstand water from a carwash. He chuckled when i used the words waterproof...said that would mean you could dunk them in water...and no you can't. Water resistant is what they are...i know they do not have paper cones so i am going to order some myself. Since i live in state its cheaper to order online vs. 8.1% sales tax plus $89.99 a pair. I found a website for $80.00 a pair with free shipping so...and anyones you order for the Vision are not old stock as the Vision was new for 2008.
Hope that helps.

I've had my J & M (s) in for a season and like them. They installed easily, sound good and resist water. In short...I'm happy! |

Posts: 1324 So Cal | I dont have them for the Vision. I did have them on my HD. 3 yrs. no problem. Rain, washing still held up. Good price too! HD's solution was $400 upgrade. My hearing is shot. If I can hear the radio, Im happy. |

I found that the front and rear speakers are the same, when i ordered both for my tour premium. When i open the boxes the speakers had the same part number on the speaker itself. I say this because the front ones cost $10 more than the rears!!!! Glad i bought them anyways! |
