Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | Okay, so what, I did something with my Vision again today. I guess we all get sick of hearing how well this bike rides and looks. But I took off the Geezer pack again today and it become once again the Super Stud Sonic Soarer, or the Street Vision. There was a "save Harley" fund raiser at the local HD dealer and I thought I would go. I was out on my Vision early this morning and it was below 30 degrees. I saw about three Ultra Classics and just knew something hot was going on at the their dealer. Sure 'nuff, it was the annual Chili cook off. So about lunch time I figured I do the swap up and head on down there. Man, as soon as I pulled the bike off the kick I felt the difference. I had to watch it on the turns as I almost cut a couple close and nearly ended in the ditch. This bike is made to soar without the geezer pack, but it is sweet when you need it. Anyway, I go there, get my chili and mingled with the hogs and hogettes for a while. They tried so hard not to look at the Vision and I'm sure they wondered what the heck I was doing there to begin with. I actually knew a couple of the guys there. When I left though I went straight to the Vic dealer to get sanitized.

Posts: 271 Belding Michigan | Since leather seem to be the thing I am trying to decide if the fringe around the floorboards and hangig from the clutch and brake lever is pushing it to far. I saw an Indian on Saturday with it and it looked good but the future and leather may not make the cut. Opinions???? |

Posts: 97 Brighton, Colorado | Been thinkin' about taking off the trunk and getting the back rest with rack. How much of a hassle is it to reverse it out and put the trunk back on (if needed)? How many different kind of tools will I need and how long should it take?
P.S. I'm NOT a wrench. So add extra minutes if necessary.

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | There's acutally video's running around, which I have not watched, on other Vision sites. It is relatively simple and doesn't take long. The first time, maybe an hour. - Get a diet Dew.
- Stand and sip on the Dew looking at the bike and think "Do I really want to do this?"
- If no, go for a ride.
- If Yes, remove seat by removing that center panel and using the smaller allen wrench in your tool set. Watch for the heated seat wire if you have that. So don't jerk and throw, lift slowly and look, seperate.
- Undo any wires that goes into the Tour Pack.
- Oh yeah, remove the license plate and bracket.
- Remove the V panel, but I think you can wait until the Pack is removed.
- The trunk is held on by four bolts and a 13mm socket and long extention should do the trick. Make sure the plugs are undone for the CB. Since your antenna is with the pack you don't have to mess with that.
- Carefully lift the trunk off, close the lid first, but keep in mind this is what has kept it balanced when opened, so hold on to it when you shut the lid.
- Done.
- You can install your backrest and panel, license plate and your done.

Every since I've had the Vision, I've been wanting to dress her in leather. I'm really looking at it from a functional standpoint, but there needs to be some fringe to balance it out. This wouldn't necessary be functional except the forward forth part of the saddlebags, but I would like to leather and fringe the entire saddlebags. Seeing a pick of the indian with the fringe on the floorboard looks really good and I think it would look great on the Vision. Remember, as future looking as it may be, cowhide is never out of style. This bike should have came with a leather seat as standard, that is one piece of the puzzle why did the motorcycle industry think pleather is acceptable for the saddle is beyond me. |
