Hi, Slowly growing number of Visions in the UK. I think we are up to 4..... plus 3 demo bikes in the country.

At first Victory did not plan on selling the Visions out here so I had to get mine flown over from Chicago back in November 07.

The credit crunch is not helping over here, we lost some more dealers especially in the London area so Victory is taking a bit of strain in the UK ( i think ).

So where are the pics of your bike?
As long as you have your bike and riding weather, you are 90% there.

Every business in the world is feeling these tough times. I believe Victory will fair well because parent company Polaris has made it through all the other bad times since '54. I worry about the good HD shops that invested in these big expensive dealerships that HD "demanded" and now the dealers take the fall. I feel bad for anyone in business that has worked hard, done a great job only to have the banks say, NO.
I feel that we as customers need to keep a close eye on our budgets but buy as we can from good business people so they can survive. Maybe I can't afford the chrome forks but I can afford a luggage rack and not whine about him asking for retail price and maybe he/she will throw it on for free. We need to work as a team not as give me, give me, give me.

Hi Jacques - I too looked into importing one just over a year back but it did not make sense at the time. So here I am now buying one from the local dealer. Do you know who the other UK owners are? We ought to set up a site or section of this one to share knowledge?

Doc, did not realise you where in the UK, sorry. When are you getting your Vision.

I just got back from a week in the Alps skiing not riding, drove more than 1500 miles - I'll go back in the summer on the Vision.

Neil and I have contact via email, he is based in Kent, we now know about you and blackchopper in Liverpool. Mike Pedler at Victory UK will no doubt know who the rest are. I think an early summer get together must be on the cards !!!!

Blackchopper shall I ask Red or Blue ?. I am interested in what changes Victory made for the official bikes to pass the SVA test. As I imported mine i had to make quite a number of adjustments to be registered, biggest job was to add amber indicators at the back replacing the red brake light as indicator.

I am Farnborough based with 3 Vic's with the closest dealer now in Marsh, Cambridgshire so will be heading north a number of times this year.

I will private mail you guys in 4 weeks or so, lets see if we can get together, get Victory involved and do something central to all of us.

I am also optimistic about Polaris as a company to get through the economic downturn and hope they will have the 'vision' to support their dealers all round. All round we get the feeling that there is a sense of positiveness from the US after the election but unfortunately it feels as if over here we are waiting for the US to rescue us all as our leaders have no answers.

Y'all are waiting for the US to rescue you?? Wow, talk about the blind leading the blind... :P

Four Vision pilots in the U.K.? Sounds like y'all have a nice foundation for the first U.K. Vision Squadron.

well hello everyone, i am based in Henlow, Bedfordshire and have just added a cherry vision to my arlen ness jackpot, got it last week from freedom motorcycles in march. didnt realise there were so few owners in the uk but perhaps there are more. traded in my bmw r1200rt and have found some things different (wouldnt say worse) but a lot of things better including the attention it gets. Oh and you must get that ipod connector but the biggest disappointment has been the fm reception but i have already found that this is a common problem with an aftermarket fix so will get on to that.

Jacques, interesting the problems you had for sva as mine got through with red indicators and smallish no plate and no other major changes as far as i know. And you will get on with richard and mark at freedom no problem I am sure.

Welcome indeed UKNessie (a scot in Bedfordshire???). A beautiful pair of bikes. My wife is now looking at a King Pin or a Hammer, so we may end up a two Vic family too, rather than the Vision and a DN01. I'm sure this thread will end up carving out a UK area of the forum? Any forum 'owners/regulators' any thoughts??

Polaris is coming to Europe. At the Victory Party in Daytona Beach the V.P. of Victory announced they were opening two company owned stores in Germany 2010. Maybe England is next.

they have offices in the uk but no store, i think even if they did i would use my dealer anyway. they are going into europe and russia big this year onwards perhaps the dealer set up is different and that is why they are opening stores in germany?

very nice bike bar hopper, hope to see it one day. and yes ive noticed with one or two forums it aint easy to post pics. you have to make sure they meet the size limit (less than 80kb here) and add after you have posted which is weird. and i think it is easier to upload from your computer rather than cyber space.

Hi UKnessie and thanks for the crafting of the pic. By the way, it's "doc", bar hopper is a name this odd forum gives to you when you're posts go beyond a preset number!!!

I really think us Victory UK riders could do with setting up a UK forum (and use a better engine?) - if there is enough support, I'd happily look into it!

Doc, There must be a dealer open day at some point halfway between Derbyshire and London. If we pick an open day and try and get all the Vision's there it could be something special. I'll do some investigations re the dates and dealerships.
