I want to use a u-bolt, ball mount from RAM for my Zumo. They have 3 sizes 1" 1.25" and 1.3" inch. Does anyone know if one of these will work? If so, what top plate do I need to match up with it.

I think I know why he is asking, and I am curious too. If you mount it on the center dash, your passenger can't see it. My wife can see the Zumo on our Goldwing & Kawasaki. It lets her enjoy more of the whole experience, and not just sit there like luggage.

I used the RAM mount on my handlebar on my Nomad, I took it off of that bike yesterday and will be moving it to the Vision tonight. The only modification I will need is a longer U Bolt. Where the handlebar bends, the diameter gets down to 1 inch, so the current bolt slips very nicely over it. It is just too short.

That is what I found. So, please let me know if you find a longer U-bolt that fits the job. I am in no hurry, but would to know after you successfully install.

I picked up a longer U-bolt at my local Ace Hardware. It was a bit too long so I just trimmed it with hacksaw, dressed the cut ends with a needle file, and put one of the rubber caps that comes with Zumo over the protruding ends. It's mounted at the bend in the left bar. If a 1/4" U-bolt is too tight on the bar, use a 3/16" one and get two new bolts to fit. I put a turn of black silicon rubber tape around the bar under the U-bolt to kepp it from marring the Chrome.
