I know there is more controversy over this subject probably any other, and I am by no means a wrench, so this is just my opinion. My Harley riding buddy had put Redline in his primary and was bragging how much quieter it ran. So he talked me into splitting a case of their oil. Friday I had enough miles to change the oil and filter for the second time. Yesterday he and I went for a couple hundred mile run. I was very impressed with changes. Shifting of the tranny was smoother and quieter, the oil temp seemed to run some cooler, but the biggest change was the tranny. Much quieter than before. The noise from the tranny had always bugged me and I don't mean to suggest that it is completely gone, but noticeably better. I am not a dealer nor a distributor, as I said, just my observations.

sounds like it acts like the amsoil does. its probably a very high grade synth oil. i have heard of it before, but never seen it in a store nor have i heard much reviews on it. so i just stick to amsoil. not saying one is better. just saying i have a past with amsoil. right now im running the victory oil change kit in my vision as i wasnt able to get amsoil right then and there, i regret using the victory oil change kit. my shifting is notchy and at as soon as 500 miles on the oil i feel the shifting getting worse, with ALOT of miss shifts into (N) at a stop light...

After reading the comments about Amsoil a few months ago, i re-enacted my membership that I had let lapse about 10 years ago. I now have a case of Amsoil in the garage awaiting my oil change next week. Im looking forward to seeing the difference. We have our first
season club ride 24th of April, so I want to get the Amsoil in and running before the trip. Thanks for the heads up and Re-suggestion.

I am using Redline in my 2008 Vision for the first time and like Gray Rider my tranny is much quieter and smoother, I have not seen any shifting problems and am now at 300 miles on oil change. I do not know how much Amsoil is but redline is about $12.00 a qt. will post on this subject when I get to 1000 miles.

I pay $7.75 a quart for 10W40 Amsoil Premium Synthetic. I run it 5000 miles in each of my two Victory bikes. I also went back to victory oil one time when I ran out of Amsoil and needed to change before a weekend trip. My tranny instantly got noisier, the shifting became "notchy" and neutral became elusive on my Vision. I got that crap out of there after 1500 miles and went back to Amsoil and all was well again.

I'm convinced that there is a reason that Victory recommends 2500 mile oil changes on their oil. That's all the longer it's good for and 2500 miles is pushing it.

Amsoil is cheaper than Victory oil too, when you factor in the miles of use per change.

I've never used the Redline. It's probably as good as Amsoil, but apparently considerably more expensive.

Redline makes some great full synthetic fork oil that I've used in the past with no complaints- no experience with their other fluids.
