Posts: 520 Simi Valley, CA | I have just over 2600 miles on my Vision, this past weekend I did a 550 miles ride and during it I noticed that the clutch friction zone seemed to be getting slightly further away from the handlebars. I checked it this morning and my clutch starts to engage about 1/4 inch form the end of travel, anf fully engages at full release.
Is this normal? How far out is your clutch engaging?

Posts: 8144 New Bohemia, VA | There was a post and a long thread relative to this problem a few months ago. His clutch completely went out in very short period of time after purchasing it used. I've always noticed mine to be "out there" but it functions fine though it will fool me sometimes on a right turn take off and it seems it takes forever to engage.
I would keep a close eye on it and even take it to the dealer to have them check. The feller that had the problem where his clutch went out said he noticed the longer release one day, and the next day his clutch was shot. I haven't heard if he ever got it fixed and resolved as warranty wouldn't cover it and he didn't know the history from the previous owner that may have caused it to go out quickly. |

Posts: 1117 Northeast Ohio | Mine has always been close to all the way out. As soon as I pull on it a bit, i feel it disengage. Because it is hydraulic, I don't think there is a way to adjust it (I can't find anyway to do this in the service manual). |

Posts: 520 Simi Valley, CA | Thanks- I am leaving for a 4000 mile trip in a couple of weeks, don't want to worry about the new bike's clutch going out. I am going to take it into the dealer and have give me the thumbs up.
I read all about the previous issues and the clutch going out and I don't see any way to adjust it either.

Posts: 13 Lebanon, PA | I'm at about 10,000 miles and find I'm almost all the way out before engaging, but it's always been that way. I read on another post a while ago that all the Victory clutches grab near fully out and that it is kind of a Victory trait. |

I am in exactly the same position at just about 10,000 miles. It has been this way since the beginning, and I personally like it this way (I have my Harley adjusted the same way). It is a much longer through to let it out in first gear, but I barely have to move the clutch lever for shifting gears.
Anyway, no problems for me with it this way. |

Posts: 432 Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | The only other bike I had with a hyro clutch was a BMW K1200LT and it engaged near the end of travel. I notice in the garage when I am turning the bike around to leave that the clutch does start to engauge fairley early but wont accept much power until pretty much near the end of travel. |
