Found a dealer that could do the recall    and I figured that while it was there I’ll go ahead and do the oil change. We talked two weeks ago on a Tuesday. I set up my appointment for tomorrow Fri at 10:00 I called him last week to make sure the parts for the recall was in and he said they would be in Fri. I called him today to make sure the parts came in to make sure everything was still a go (it is a six hour round trip). He told me the parts would have to be ordered. I think I handled this situation very well. He tried to move the appointment to Sat. Well I can not do it on Sat. I told him that he knew about this for over two weeks and he said “I know the part guy dropped the ball.” I told him how disappointed I was and he said that when I was ready to get things done he would take care of the oil change for my inconvenience. I said ok I’ll have to figure something out.

Well, at least he did offer something. Now I just have to cool down enough to call him or someone else back and see if they can’t do it. I am very frustrated right now. I really don’t like the closest dealer do to the fact he told me Arlen Ness did not make pipes for the Vision then when I asked him to look it up he said “Oh they do. Well I stopped selling all Ness products because the quality was not that good anymore.”  He was going to sell me the S1L1 exhaust and when I asked him if he would go ahead and install the VFCIII he told me no, that no fuel controller will work on a closed loop fuel system and that he could save me money if he “techno tuned” it. Nobody on this board has even heard of a “techno tune” when I asked.

I am the kind of person that will the research, get the fact then go out and find the best place to purchase or have it done at. “I know what I want”. After looking at all the signatures on this web site and seeing VFCIII installed on most of the bikes on her then there JUST MIGHT BE SOMETHING TO IT!!!

At least I don't have stalling issue's, or popping issue, yet, like some on this site.

Victory, Victory, Victory, what are we to do? As I have stated in another post, “I love my bike but not the dealerships”.

I am sorry about dumping my frustrations out on this forum but I know where I can go for support. And I give thanks to all you out there.

THANK YOU!!!

Signed

No love from the dealers.

The only thing I can add is that I feel for ya... I also know that folks at Victory have been known to read this forum, and I'm guessing are maybe even more frustrated than you... but not by much. I mean seriously... If someone comes to you, offers to buy lots of your product so they can resell it.... Once the deal is done... what power do you have? It's no longer your product, it just has your name on it, but you sold it. That's pretty much how the dealers work. They buy the accessories, the signage, the bikes... they hire the mechanics, and they hopefully sell the products they bought at a profit. For intents and purposes a Dealer is just a customer like you and me that gets a volume discount. It's got to be frustrating for Victory to hear that while there are great dealers, there are those re-selling their product that probably shouldn't.

I know where there is a good dealer in Florida that stays informed on all the latest stuff, and will get the customer what he wants......

reloader, sorta know how you feel. My bike has all the bugs worked out finally or so it seemed. Took it in today to have some routine servicing on the forks done before my trip next week. About the time they get it finished it begins to rain, so I give it a quick look over and head home.
Well just went out and gave her a good looking over after dinner and found the right axle spacer in backwards, forks not aligned on the top clamp and either the left cap wasn't tightened properly or he stripped it and hoped the pinch bolt held it in place.
Had one of their mechanics that was doing great maintenance on my bike but he's been promoted out of the garage and the other tech just can't seem to get with it on the Vision. Don't get me wrong he's a good mechanic from all accounts but he makes one mistake after another on my bike for some reason.
Oh well they'll get it fixed up tomoroow but I sure hate making 2 trips. Next time I'll do it myself. Hang in there stuff really does happen.
Oh should add over 15k and not a single mechanical failure worth a mention.

@ Doc: I'd give the dealer a second chance. If he's willing to do the oil for free to offset your inconvenience, then he's obviously thinking more long term and might turn out to be pretty good.

Oh yeah..... WaaaAAAAAaaaarrr Eagle!!!! :P

@ mgoblue: Who have you tried in MI? Where are you located? I've been to K&W in Utica and they have a guy there that's pretty sharp on Vics. They've been a dealer since Victory came out, so he has a lot of experience. There's also Klimmek's in Mio. Nice people, but I've never had service done there, so I can't vouch for the mechanic.

Rebel, I bought my first Kingpin at Babbit's in Muskgeon but they are no longer a Vic dealer, bad, bad expierences with them. I loved Devries sales in Portage, that's where i bought my 08 Vision, but they to are no longer a Vic dealer, they were one of the first 100 or so dealers. Denny the owner has # 23 of the first runs of Vic's. I've tried Victory of Grand Rapids they treated me like a complete dick because i didn't buy the bike there. They seem very busy into there John Deere service and sales which there losing and they say they can't make it without Deere. Now i'm dealing with Full Throtle in Lansing, they wanted the bike for at least a week for a tip that's blueing. I live in Allegan and man Lansing's a long way. I think my next try will be the one's in Ind., i think Fort Wayne and i'm not sure where the other one is, Terre Haute is way to far, that's got tobe at least 6 hours. I hate to say it but the next bike, probably next spring will be HD just because of dealer location and all my buddies have them with no issues.
