well my wife unit was on her way to work and she calls and says I-95 is backed up because of a motorcycle down, hit by a pickup. Good news is that the rider was sitting on the side of the road looking okay, thank goodness.

While in the traffic or shortly there after she sees a gray Vision go by with the plates "TOURIC" (tour I see ???). The pilot was shirtless with shorts on. Who were you?

I'm in the general area, but it was not me. If I rode shirtless, some Japanese boat would pull up and harpoon me.

That guy is not really all THAT stupid. If he were riding on one of the fast colors, it would be a risk. With that Super Slow Gray, he might as well have training wheels =

You know, back when i worked the emergency room, all those bikers and biker chicks who came in TORN TO HELL skin missing
disfigurments etc each of em crying "why me why me" We all wanted to say " Why you? Because you stupid jackass,
you rode a 60mph machine wearing the same friggen outfit you wear to the beach, WHY NOT YOU !!" Its hard to have pity for
stupidity. As much of a nice guy as I am (shut up some of you), i have no sympathy for hearing about sunburns, leg burns, permanent scars etc etc . If you wanna wear gogo shorts, get a cage or stop crying. There, i feel much better now, can i have my meds ????? LOL

I hear ya Bro. Good one. Large portions of my body haven't seen the sun in about a decade.

About 80 lbs ago, I used to ride in shorts, sneakers, no helmet (at times) & fingersless gloves (just to absorb sweat). My wife crashed a Burgman 650 around 45-50 MPH in a corner avoiding a truck over the centerline in the opposite direction. She did have a 3/4 helmet & jacket on, but no gloves. Road rash scars and permanent mouth (nerve) damage to this day. Although I still think things like this won't happen to me, I wear all the gear from the waist up since 2001. I ain't gonna worry about the bottom half.

I don't criticize the types of riders, but I personally have made a lifestyle change that still includes a motorcycle everyday of my life.

Here is a thought to consider if you don't wear gloves when riding and you get into an accident. While your sliding down the road and the skin is getting shreaded off the fingers and palms, think about who is going to or wants to wipe your behind when your hands are all wrapped up like a mummy's! Always wear as much protective gear as you can and still be comfortable.

Okay, not wanting to be side tracked on saving the skin, I was hoping I had a neighbor that rode a Vision also. Now you all probably scared him off to even answer if he is a frequentor of this here forum.

I feel your pain , Man. Not as bad as they feel it, but, that's their problem. Not mine.

All,

While I am not a fan of threads like this, it does show exactly why I was a military person and fought for the ability to flame others like some of you have done.

I have to ask why people must take a low road and flame someone while calling them 'stupid'. Yes, I agree that it is NOT the smartest thing to do in this case, but it is NOT for us to judge others but more importantly to EDUCATE.

I didn't learn MY lesson on my best friend went down on his full tour HD Ultra. He dropped the bike at 65+ with only leathers on. He wasn't wearing a helmet or gloves. He was EXTREMELY luck to only have two scratches on his head. The bad part was his spleen was blown apart and he was in for emer surgery to remove it. He survived and NOW is a strong advocate for wearing ALL of the gear. He DOES go a bit beyond for his safety, but this is HIS choice.

He has made it clear to all of us fellow riders that he HIGHLY recommends wearing all the gear but also has enough respect for the rest of us to do as WE see fit. He does NOT call any of the riders in our group that do not wear helmets, 'stupid'.

I have taken to riding with helmets, gloves and some sort of protective gear on the top. I do not wear chaps because, well, the Vision is too hot to allow for them and still be comfortable. As a matter of fact, I am opening on online store soon that will offer helmets that I recommend and other parts that will make the Vision a stronger and better machine.

So, I just ask...NOT telling you...that you take a minute to use a filter and educate rather than to flame uneducated people.

It took me 30 plus years to gain the knowledge! Hopefully it will take others NO down time (pun intended) and MUCH less time to garner the proper education!

I did a bad bad thing yesterday!
Took a quick ride to laconia with full protective gear on, and by the time i got to the N.H border
it was 85 and climbing. Stopped at the state line off came the 3/4 helmet, riding pant's and armored jacket.
WoW! I don't advocate this practice but the freedom to do so felt great!

okay guys and gals, I was simply trying to find out who it was in the 'hood on a SSG with the license plate TOURIC, not to jump on them about going au naturel. Sorry to stir the debate, but I guess they haven't joined up here.

Sandman,

THIS is what I was saying about my buddy that took a digger on his bike. He advocates helmets and all, but says without a doubt that it should be up to the rider and not some government official to tell me or YOU in this case how to ride safely.

Glad you had a good ride!
