I actually have friends and some of them ride a harley. I saw one today that is a die hard harley dude and says he can't ride much any more because of back pain. I started talking 'bout the Vision as we were walking to it and told him that I can ride all day long without a problem. He says that that he is having his lowered to help some and I invite him to sit on the Bentley. His first reaction is that it is too tall. I say go ahead and he does. Of course on the kick his right foot is off the ground with his 27.5 inseam but when he pulls it off the kick he flat footed. He looks at me in total surprise and compliments how well it sits. I tell him it is stock just like it is.

I could see the sparkle in his eye but the the hesitation to go that route since he is riding the bike he has always dreamed of... until now....

At least he sat on the Vision, my brother in-law will not. He rides a Ultra Classic and some old Kawasaki to and from work?

Ya know if i had not had problems with the HD dealer and corporate I probably would have never considered a Vision....thank god for small miracles. 35 years of die hard Harley ended abruptly when i just could take no more B.S. Sold the Ultra and went straight to Victory and said I want that one....well 11 months and 26,000 miles later i feel like a representative for Victory with all the questions i get from all kinds of riders. Best thing that has ever happened to me.

This once again proves that Americans are herd mentality. If a group of people say that dog poop is the best tasting thing around, and you arent cool if you dont eat it, pretty soon there will be dog poop stores all around. This thinking is what has gotten most Americans into all the trouble they are in. Lets live on credit cards because everyone else does, lets buy houses bigger then we need because everyone else does. etc etc etc. Even in 2009, we still as a whole cannot think outside of the box. And whats worse is that most times, its someone elses box we are stuck thinking in. You cannot force someone to think on their own or out of their box unless they choose to. Bottom line let him ride his achy back HD and complain about it, because he wont consider anything else until he is forced to.

VaP, this is kinda like all them folks that bought Lexus cars because they were told in the rags, or on the tube, they were better than sliced bread! People in the US buy what they want, and most of that buying is hinged to some marketing plan. If they make their decisions and find out there is a mistake, then they can make the change. It's called a free market....and I don't believe it will change.

I'm not sure if I would call this guy part of the herd. He has his reasons for going Harley and got the bike he wanted after many years of dreaming. Being short seamed he's having it customized more, and it suits his needs wants and desires, just as the Vision does me. But, as he says he's has back problems, and it was very similar to the problem I had on the Wing. I had my seat cut to fix that problem and that was before I knew there was a Vision. Timing was big for me otherwise I would have bought and settled for wing. But I also told him that on the Vic I do not have the back problems he describes on the Vision, thus is why I insisted for him to take a sit.

His reaction was geniune and never realized what he was missing. Like I told him also, my decision to buy the Vision was because I love to ride and the comfort that it has, if for nothing else.

We were talking bikes and our passion for riding, not brands. I've rethunk alot of things in the past month or more and if you want to ride whatever you want to, more power too you.

By the way, my cages has an American heritage also, but we don't need to bring that up, do we.

So VisionTex are you implying that I bought my car because i read some paper review that told me it was a great car, or would you prefer to infer that I purchased my car because I am smart enough to know it because of my previous Lexus products, my history with the dealership as well as the constant numbers on residual value, trade in, and safety records.............. Naaah, your not stereotyping me simply because i own a Lexus are you????

People in the US bash American cars and Harley. They feel American manufacturing has lost their edge, and wonder why the economy is in a slump? I hear it all of the time about American cars and how the unions have ruined the American auto industry (not a union worker, by the way) . I have heard bad about every manufacturer that builds cars, truck or motorcycles, Toyota builds the Prius, but the also build gas guzzling V-8 trucks. Why? Because the Americans wanted them! Toyota was happy building 4 cylinder cars, and people wondered. Why cant the build a 6 cylinder? And the did. Then people said, why cant they build a V-8, so they did. But the American manufacturers are at fault for building what the people wanted without asking? Do you really need 106 ci. motorcycle? No.
