My wife and I just returned from a trip to FL..we did about 2800 miles..Of course we had stuff in the trunk and a bag on the trunk rack. On our way back, my wife told me that the trunk is hitting the grab rail when we hit a bump. Just not much I could do on the trip..I had already redone the rack cause it came loose..no lock-tite. I get home and take a look..sure enough the trunk is sitting lower on the right side than the left. I can't stick my finger between the rail and trunk. The other side I can no prob. Anyone seen this issue. I plan to take the bike in this week for the 5K..just trying to get as much info as I can.

I do not have the rack installed on the top trunk. When you say grab rail, I assume you mean the chrome trim peice above the lock.

I always shut my trunk by pulling back on the passenger's backrest. This is something taught from the Goldwing. Pulling on the rack caused cracks some some owners. You will also keep you finger prints of the shiny chrome. (o:

Maybe some of the star washers under the feet can help you? http://www.directlineparts.com/product.asp?pid=7659&str=4
They will make the base wider.

I mean the grab rail on the saddlebag that is right under the trunk..maybe my title is misleading. The trunk seems much lower on one side than the other and is really close to the grab rail on the saddlebag.

Well that makes a difference. It sounds like you need to check the 4 bolts attaching the trunk to the frame. This would be easy for me because I don't have the CD player or CB stuff installed in the tube of it. Just storage for me.
