Posts: 244 Lindale, TX | After a little over two months of ownership I have nothing to complain about my 2008 Tour Premium - other than the soft seat.
I tried to ignore it, but the seat is giving me some issues. I get pretty sore after 45 minutes or so and start squirm pretty bad. It may be just my weight (280#), but after 2500 miles it is not getting better. I had the same problem on the BMW and did a Russell Day-Long custom which solved the problem.
When I read all the reviews on the 2008 visions, writers raved about the seat. It was something that interested me in the Vision, and at first, it felt pretty good. I never hear vision riders really complain about the seat. In fact everyone seems pretty happy with it. makes me think somethings wrong with me.
I checked into a Russell Day-Long custom and it would be about $1000. I am getting Utopia driver's backrest and I also put a beadrider seat cover I had in the garage on this bike to see if that helps. Maybe I need to give it another 2500 miles and either the seat or my butt will break in.
Corbin makes a seat but it does not match the OEM trunk pad on the tour. I think it would look weird, and it's espensive to boot.
Are you all happy with the OEM seat?

I should have the Utopia on by the end of June so hopefully that will help a lot. I would be extremely happy to ride fill-up to fill-up. |

Posts: 208 Wichita, Kansas | The Vision has the best stock seat of any bike I've ridden. Better than the aftermarkets on most bikes. I also made about 2,500 before I had a firmer memory foam made for wheelchairs installed. 100% improvement. $60 parts and $125 labor.
But I'd still give the thumbs up to the old King-Queen double saddle seat on my old XS11 Venturer. Not much for looks but it sure was comfortable.

The vinyl does offer the support of leather and hope to do mine as well. I don't have any problems with the comfort, its the vinyl that makes me sweat too much and gives me monkey butt. |

I meant to say that vinyl does not offer the support of leather, thus could be a problem when the seat gives way too much. I had a seat one time covered in leather and even had some foam cut out. It was more comfortable because of the support leather gave and I didn't have the sticky feeling after a long sweaty ride. |

| I am also at my 2500mile mark and as a rider have no complaints (205#) funny enough my co-pilot of 20+ years has issues with her seat (105#) It seems that she doesn't weigh enough to actually depress the seat or backrest !! When we stop for lunch etc and she gets off there are 2 sharply indented areas. I keep telling her she has a bony butt and now have the evidence to prove it !!! Thinking of getting a sheepskin cover or something that will help.
My ONLY COMPLAINT is with ....you guessed it ....the dealership. Its been 2weeks plus since they installed the lloydz fuel controller and the WRONG pipes . When I called at the end of the first week they were ordered, to check on the status , I was given a snotty "They were just ordered and they take 5 days to get here from CA, so we'll call you when they come in". That was two weeks ago, meanwhile my bike is intermittently stalling and popping.
I am a business owner who deals with the general public and I gotta say I am NOT impressed, in fact I'm getting pissed |

| I've added the Utopia and it helped my back quite a bit but I also have problems w/the seat. Lacking an ass, I feel those bones going numb in 50-75 milees. I'm considering adding some padding and having it sewn in but I don't know any real leather guys locally and also don't know whether to go w/the butt padd insert or just take it to the best person I can find and say "give it a try". This bike is far too sweet to have my riding limite by my little butt. I will say the stock seat is the best stock seat I've ever ridden. Had to have emergency eye surgery Monday for a detatched retina--going nuts sitting at home w/the bike just waiting in the garage. ~Shy |

| G,day East Texas Rider,
Down under we have an after market attachment called an 'Airhawk' which you fill with air and then release until it suits your butt.....I have used them on my previous bike which was a Honda that had a crap seat as most Hondas do. Combining this with a sheep skin, meant that I was able to ride all day without any problems....and a very affordable alternative than spending big dollars on custom seats that may not sort the problem anyway.....
Look them up on the web it may be a good alternative, but I expect that some clever yank may already have a similar product over there.....
Try putting the heater on low, for a while this does help with circulation, two layers of sheep skins also helps, but plenty of cheaper alternatives than custom seats...
Good luck.
