Posts: 101 Cold Lake Alberta Canada | Well we are all back in one piece. As you may or may not have known Colin Field, Dave Stone , Dwayne Diebert and myself went to Valley City North Dakota this last weekend.
For the western meeting and BBQ. The trip started great, on time and good weather. We stopped at Lloyd for a gas up and check over of everything so we could settle in for about a six hour trip to the first night camp out. Well that was the plan! While I had just purchased a new bike I had no issues on my mind. Did I mention that was the plan!?!?! WELL that's when the plan started to lets say edit itself. I had a volt meter that was doing the funky chicken to say the least. With the nearest dealer in Saskatoon away we went. And made it to the middle of the highway trying to turn into the Husky truck stop and bang no more nothing. That's when the picture below was taken (who is boosting who notice the lights?). After lunch we all went to the Victory dealer in Saskatoon, and I just made it I might add.
Once at the dealer we find out that they have only been a Victory dealer for about a month, and the Victory mechanic was at the factory getting training (in Minnesota). Was my trip over? The shop foreman and the sales guy said lets see if anything could be done. Well by the end of the day the others had vanished into the sunset and I was in the motel all upside down wondering if I was going to trade in or rent a UHaul and go home. Upon going to the dealership in the morning to make up my mind I find the shop foremen just putting my bike back together. And the showroom unit stripped down and the new parts installed in my beast. The parts installed were a battery, stator, regulator and relay. This was fantastic as it left the showroom bike totally disabled and no parts any place close. All I can say is GUERTIN Equipment in Saskatoon AWSOME!! They called other dealers and Polaris tech service was on the line. And presto at 1:00 PM I was heading south to Valley city. And just incase you are wondering I really like the bike!
Bill Meyers, Ken Eiswerth, Mark Diehl and the Gig Guy all deserve a huge ATTA BOY for some great service by some great people.
Well I took to the road at 1;00Pm and at 11;30 I was at the camp site in Valley City and not a problem for the rest of the trip.
We had a great time meeting a bunch of good people
After a couple of local rides and a couple of loco nights we were off. Sunday morning came into play waay too soon. I had to be at work on Monday so 15 hours and no bike problems later I was home. Dwayne, Dave and Colin left a little later and went to Humbolt for the night ( Much smarter ) A great time was had by all. Its in Calgary next year and well worth the effort.

Posts: 1290 Ruskin, Fl | I had a similar experience with the dealer where I purchased my Vision. About 10 days old it wouldn't run. Backfired, stalled, and tried to buck me off. Limped to the dealer on Satureday and they rolled it right into the shop. Bad MAP sensor. They didn't have a replacement in stock to they took it off a brand new bike on the floor. I'm not sure how much work was involved, not as much as what they did for you, but it showed they didn't want my first experience with Victory to be a bad one. | |
