| I received my Vision on 11-14-2007. It arrived at the dealership the previous week. Both bags have a "dent" or "crease" about 2-3" long. I have also seen a "crease" on the trunk. My bags are not aligned correctly, with the left one being the worse. I had an engineer from Victory call to ask what I thought about the bike. I told him about the alignment issue and dents/crease on the trunk and bags. He said Victory is aware of the saddlebag alignment issue and dents/creases in the bags and trunk. There is an adjustment/correction dealerships were sent to fix the alignment problem. The engineer said the dent/crease issue is ongoing and to keep in touch with the dealership. I have seen a demo model at a dealership where the paint was rubbing off on the support pads due to the bad being so far out of alignment.
I'm a little dissapointed with these issues after spending $23,000.

IndyVision- I posted a thread on the first page here on the dent issue - My dealer and Victory have recognized the dent/creases as a warranty item and I am awaiting a new saddlebag- I agree with you on the fit and finish of the bags and trunk, hopefully this will be taken care of also - Welcome to the forum |

Posts: 495 Carrollton, TX | I stopped by another dealer Saturday that had just gotten some Vision's in and all the new ones had no dents on the bags and the alignment on the doors was good. It appears they have fixed these problems in the last couple of weeks.

| I have a bad gap on the bottom left corner of the right bag. It's about a quarter inch. You can see the frame of the bike if you get down and look through the gap. I was told by the engineer that it is excess and the upper tolerence is one eighth inch. Sorry for repeating the thread, I didn't much info on the alignment. Anyone else have the gap problem? |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | I talked with a Victory engineer at the NYC IMS and he said they had resolved the mold issue that causes the "ding" on the side bags. He said that all Visions now made would not have that problem. I forgot to bring up the alignment issue.

| In the past 2 weeks I have stopped by 2 local dealers and looked at 8 Visions (combination of Tour and Street). Did not see any dents on the new bikes but everyone had the alignment issue - mainly on the left saddle. One dealer told me that they had adjusted the lid as far as it would go but you could still see the difference in the right vs. left bag (rights appeared to be OK and all the lefts had gaps - especially from the mid section to the lower back part of the bag) if you looked at the bags from the rear or from a birds eye view.
My wife is seriously looking at a Tour Premium but we are waiting to see if someone will come out with a 1" riser to move her back an inch or so in the seat - and maybe by then they will fix this alignment issue on the saddles.
I am also interested to know if the engine heat issue on the riders legs becomes a real issue when summer temps arrive - has anyone had the opportunity to ride this bike when it hits 90F???

Risers are NOT an option with the Vision. There's no room in the design for them. Any pullback would need to be accomplished with a set of new bars. I have the guys at SRVT working on a set that will come back about 2" further than stock and will be round and not the odd shape of the stock bars. I should have them to deliver to my coater by the end of the month, so I'll give a review sometime in February.
As to the heat...I have ridden my stock Vision in temps as high as 95*. Oddly enough, the heat seems to be more noticable with the temp in 80s than it is in the 90s. As it was with the new HDs, though, the temps should be significantly reduced after Lloydz kit is installed with a set of Stage 1 pipes. Again, I'm hoping to have these parts installed in Februrary, so I'll be able to post a review at that time...

| I am a little confused?
Why would you except a bike that has dents in it? Would you buy a new car or truck that had dents? |

My Vision was made the week of 11/19/07, serial number XXXXXXXXX3994. It has no crease in either bag. |

The mold marks/dents on the bags are very difficult to see unless you know where to look, especially on the black bikes. Most folks getting thier bikes in are too excited about actually having the bike to take the time to look it over completely. Even those that do can easily miss this minor imperfection.
I noticed it on a midnight cherry long before I realized mine had it, as well. I think I had the bike almost a month and had ridden about 1500 miles when I finally saw it. It's since been reported to my dealer and it will be fixed.

| I went to get my registration out of the right saddlebag and noticed a crease in the side of the riders seat from the edge of the bag pushing into the seat. Anyone else have this problem? |

My right saddlebag rubs my seat too. I also have the same problem with my left bag not fitting well and the hinges make a nasty sound when the bag is fully opened. I am also blessed with the dreaded saddlebag dents, very noticable on the right side. Finally got my answer on it from a Victory Customer Service Rep named Josh this last Wednesday. Long story short he told me it is part of the process that can not be controled and that some are better than others. Claims it can't be fixed. (We all know that's BULLSHIT since the newer ones don't have the problem) He then proceeded to tell me that I could probably work something out with my dealer if I was still unhappy. I asked him if he expected my dealer to eat the cost......he said "No, but maybe he would be willing to sell me a new saddlebag lid at his cost" I about lost it!!! What a fricken idiot!!! Why would he say something so stupid???? Let's see, Sir, we are not going to cover this issue because it can't be fixed, but if you want you can BUY a good one from your dealer at his cost. If I could of, I would have kicked him square in the nuts. All of my prior Victory experiences have been good (5th bike) If this was my 1st Victory and my only experience I would be getting downright ugly with them about this. My next step is to send a letter to Polaris brass. |

Posts: 82 Northwest of you | Since I was aware of the "dent" issue, I made sure mine didn't have it when I bought it. My right side "bag" cover (It seems "bags" is a carryover from the olden days, "side storeage" seems more to the point, anyway.....) was very tight, but, 2 small washers behind the locking pin, made it "just right". No other alignment problems. I am very surprised about Polaris reluctance on the fix. I think this is where the "right" dealer really makes a difference. My dealer "raves" about how the "company" has backed him on every warranty issue he submits. He almost discouraged me from buying an extra year on the warrany because of his confidence in Vision buyers being "taken care of". |

I went through my dealer first (great dealer, has taken care of me well for years) who shared Victory's response to them with me. It was that response that prompted me to ask my dealer for a phone number that I could call and complain to. To my surprise the 2nd response was worse than the first. All in all I'm still 100% Victory and love my Vision. It may take a while but I'm still confident that Victory will do the right thing here. |

| I agree with you Big Vic. Did anyone else have an Engineer call them back in December? I told him all my issues about alignment, dents, mold flash, ect. and he said they heard everything I had mentioned from other riders. He even mentioned / asked about problems I did not have. He really hinted on just holding out and waiting till spring time. I will be suprised if nothing happens by the end of spring or summer. I think letters are a good idea. I think a bunch of Vision riders asking for help at the 10th would get some attention also. |

Fountain Inn, SC United States | Agree, writing letters is a valid course of action. There's another member of this site that has had good results by writing courteous letters to Victory and his area's DSM. Actions didn't always happen right away, but over time, good results came about. While I'm sure Victory needs to hear complaints, it's a real person that reads/hears them and like anyone, they respond better to honey than vinegar (ok, so I may have mixed my metaphors but you get the point). Relaying the point that while the issue is serious and you would like some resolution, you are very happy with your bike, you are their #1 evangelist, and you are willing to work with them to fix the issue.
In my years of involvement with Victory, I've found this to be the right action the majority of the time.

The Poconos | Got a call from my dealer today telling me that Victory will be replacing my bags for the dents and my windshield for the black paint pitting around the brackets under warranty.

| The dealer tried to align the bags. The right side bag is still rubbing the seat. Left side has over a quarter inch. The dealer also tried to reset the aluminum shield on the front, the tips were flared up over the turn signals. I was looking around the front end and noticed gaps around the turn signal lights, and the aluminum shield is bowed up on one side so you can see inside the bike. Anyone else have alignment problems on the front end with gaps between plastic parts? |

Posts: 83 Lexington, North Carolina | I had a similar problem with the aluminum shield. You could see both ends sticking up over the mirrors. I removed it and (watch for the antenna lead) and put it back paying attention to all the alignment tabs, and especially up toward the corners and it popped into place nicely. |

| Is is difficult to remove? I know there are instructions in the manual. Do you need to be careful not to bend or warp it? |

Posts: 83 Lexington, North Carolina | It is easy to remove. Its held in place much like the panel in front of the seat. The only thing you really have to watch for like I mentioned is the antenna lead which has a pretty short wire that is attached to the panel. It's been a little while since I had the panel off but best I can remember there are alignment tabs on the signal lights and other plastic parts that help place it correctly. I focused on making sure the upper corners were in place and it seemed to pop right in place. |

Posts: 9 Leander, TX | I noticed on mine (Tour Premium) that the right saddlebag cover is pressing against the seat, while the left one is great (1/4" gap or so) - I looked at everything very carefully, and noticed that the entire assembly on the right side is further in than the left side - that is, the cover appears to be aligned correctly on the storage box, but the entire storage box is recessed on the right relative to the left side - it's like the top forward corner of the box needs to be shimmed out about 1/4" - has anyone tried removing the storage boxes to get at the mounts behind?

Posts: 9 Leander, TX | One more thing - took my seat off and looked at everything (with my almost-three year old "helping" me...) and measured and looked and measured - both saddlebag covers appear to be within 1/16" (maybe even less) of the same distance from center - moved the seat as far as it would go to the left, and relieved SOME of the interference, but it's still touching on the right, nearly 1/4" gap on the left - wondering if the issue is actually in the seat mold (the flare in the seat near the forward edge of the saddlebag cover). Sigh. Too much time messing with it on a Sunday afternoon. |
