| I stopped by the Rock Store in Malibu today and picked up a copy of "Free 2 Wheel", June/July 2009 issue. A Blue Vision Premium Tour made the cover story written by Neale Bayly of the Speed TV Channel. After searching the web, I found the article also printed here online: http://motorcycling.speedtv.com/article/2009-victory-vision-premium In short, he states it has the best ground clearance and lean angle of anything in its class. It also handles the twisties better than anything in its class. His only drawback he had was that the ride ended too quickly after 4 days. He also commented on the location of the heated seat switches (Victory, hint, hint, hint, ...).
Cheers, Tim

Posts: 60 Denver | No offense meant to anyone, but has he ridden a BMW LT1200?? From experience I can say (if this tourer is considered in the same class) that it handles the twisties much better...

From experience I can say (if this tourer is considered in the same class) that it handles the twisties much better... Willy I strongly considered the BMW 1200LT before buying the Vision. A friend of mine had one and he let me ride it in the mountains around the tail of the dragon and in my opinion it does not handle the twisties as well as the Vision. It is too top heavy and lacks the torque you need to pull through the corners. It does have good brakes and the front suspension is nice. The seating position totally sucks and you have to rev the bike up to at least 7,000 rpm to get the power out of it. High revving engines are ok for sport bikes but not for cruisers or touring bikes. Greg Brew who is the industrial designer on the Vision joined Victory in 2004 after many years at BMW as the lead designer on the 1200LT. He is proud of what they have done on the Vision and clearly thinks they have built a better bike by leveraging all of his experience at BMW on what works and what doesn't. Don’t forget the expertise of Michael Song, Arlen and Corey Ness. |

Posts: 432 Gettysburg, 2008 Tour Premium | I now have had all the top luxo tourers except the Jap Harley copys and can say I feel the Vision is all around a better bike tha the BMW. Kept stock it wins hands down in my opinion. The BMW is a BMW in a lot of ways and build and finish nis about the best in class. When everything is considered for a rider the Vision takes it all. Now for passenger comfort the Gl1800 is real hard to beat and the Ultra actually has much better passenger wind protection and seating position. So my only concirns at this time is modding the passenger seat a little to get her a little lower and floorboard risers and possibly a way to mount Kuryakyn passenger boards. Taller Cee Baileys shield is coming mainly for her. |

| The K1200LT was on my short list, but lost out for the following reasons: - Too tall for my limited inseam.
- Cramped leg and riding position.
- Passenger seat way to high for me.
- Fuel mileage and power/torque was in question.
Reason #1 was the main reason it fell off my short list. If it didn't fit, the rest of the items really didn't matter one way or the other. Tim |

| The GL1800's driver's cockpit is cramped as well as the driver's leg room. The rider's thrown is definitely comfy. My better half did not like the way the saddlebags hit the back of her calfs on the Ultra, but that may have been able to be remidied with risors or something else. I put risers on her Vision boards to address her short legs and she is fine with that. She would like arm rests on the back of the Vision like she had on some other bikes. She is also happy to not have the vibrations of the Ultra. Tim |

| I try real hard to not compare my Vision to any of the others. Each does certain things extremely well, none do everything perfect. JMO... I guess thats why there is so much variety |
